Purple P. Rose is a brash private investigator. Her latest case has her visiting the city's seediest nightspot, the Mons Venus, with partner and boyfriend, Richard E. Rection. Their new case is full of surprises. Dick discovers he's bisexual and is worried Purp won't like it.
They are both unaware there's a new and sinister being in town -- Peter Hard, a vampyre who enjoys the taste of women and men alike. He's chosen Purple to be his. Ready to claim her, he uses his powers to coerce Dick to bring him in as a partner.
Their lives will never be the same again.
He wants her and she wants him. But another man wants in on the deal... well, he’d rather take over the deal. What do you do when one partner can read minds? Well, you’re Screwed.
This is a funny take on the erotica genre, but there’s also a good story, too. J. Hali Steele uses names and characterizations typical to the genre, but the substance of the story makes this work worth the time.
Purple P. Rose works as an investigator with Richard E. Rection. They have an open relationship and they aren’t afraid to explore their fantasies. Readers can identify with their sense of adventure in and out of bed. When Peter Hard, the mind-reading vampire enters the picture, both Purp and Dick want to be with him. I liked that Purp remained a strong woman throughout. I want to read about a woman who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to kick behind to get it.
The sex scenes in this work are sizzling! You can feel the love and passion between Purp and Dick. They respect each other. Even when Peter shows up, Dick still wants to protect and care for Purp.
If you want a read that’ll make you laugh and squirm, this is the novella for you. I give Screwed 4 ½ cherries.
