To survive, she’ll have to keep up with him all day. And all night…
Take Me, Lover, Book 3
Jill Martin loves adventure—as long as it comes between the covers of a book. Preferably one sporting a bare-chested hero. But to reinvent her faltering travel agency, she needs to start with reinventing herself. Her assignment: a three-day backpacking trip through the Olympic High Divide.
Soon she’s forced to cope with bears, blisters, and a basic instinct to get horizontal with her vertical guide. He’s as hard as the ground they sleep on and his heart’s as icy as the glaciers that surround them. Not a problem, since she’s only interested in his body.
Ryan Lowe knows how to read terrain, and Jill’s is easy. Soft lips, soft eyes, soft curves, soft muscles. She won’t last a day. Plus, if she knew what his imagination was doing with her body right now, she’d turn tail and run. Yet the city girl surprises him with her sheer grit—and sassy tongue.
When they run into geocachers using the remote location as a drug drop-off, there’s only one way to escape—plunge headlong into the untracked wilderness. As she puts her life in Ryan’s hands, Jill wonders if she’s in danger of losing something more precious. Her heart.
Adventure Lover is a fun, sexy, and exhilarating story that is both fast paced and sizzling hot. Author Charlene Teglia has managed to provide a whole lot excitement in a few carefully plotted pages, and the result is something that is a pleasure to read.
Jill Martin has decided to go on a camping trip in an effort to bolster her faltering travel agency. Ritzy thrills are out; the wilderness is in. Too bad her guide doesn’t seem soon keen with her company. It’s a shame, too, because Ryan Lowe is sexy enough to make the cold nights a hell of a lot warmer.
Ryan is attracted to Jill from the moment he sees her. Too bad she’s a city slicker that could never conform to his ideals of the good life. A bad divorce taught him one thing – don’t force what isn’t meant to be. Of course, when Jill agrees to a casual thing as they make the trek, who is he to say no?
Steamy sex, a drug-drop gone awry, and a believable amount of danger provide some tension, but ultimately, this is about a man coming to terms with what he wants and the woman who refuses to let him slip away. Can Jill convince Ryan to give them a chance? Can a city girl and a mountain man find love?
As with the previous stories, the pace is fast and the writing is fantastic. My only complaint is that I never connected with characters on an emotional level as I did with Redline Lover and Undercover Lover. That isn’t to say I didn’t enjoy Adventure Lover, but rather, I yearned for what pulled me in with the previous installments. Nevertheless, this is a story that is fantastic when you want something to read that is short yet, hot, with enough of a plot and tension to keep you on your toes.
Fans of the Take Me, Lover series, be sure not to miss Adventure Lover.
