Elle Simpson doesn’t deny that the new intern is sexy as hell but he’s also ten years her junior--and she doesn’t date men from the office. Of course, dating isn’t what comes to mind when David Nelson enters a room. When Elle’s boss assigns her to work an important account, she’s thrilled—until David volunteers to help. Working one on one with her desirable new assistant is bound to test the limits of her restraint.
Everything about Elle, from her professional savvy to her hot body, turns David on, but first he has to unravel her mixed signals. After a few late nights alone with Elle in the office, David is at the end of his tether. It was hard enough during the day; keeping his hands off her after hours is proving impossible.
Does love know boundaries? Does it know age limits? Can love conquer all? You’ll never know unless you read After Hours.
Erotica short stories are hard to write. You have only so much space to get the point across and only so many lines to make the reader squirm. Lynne Roberts does this well. The build-up is fun, albeit a bit slow at times, but the climax is so worth it. You feel for her characters and you want to see them get together, even when the world says no.
David is an interesting hero in that, unlike so many alphas, he doesn’t go for what he wants right off the bat. He lets the desire between them build into something neither can do without. It’s very sexy. Even though he’s a tad younger than Elle, you still want to see him score with her and show her the love bubbling in his heart.
Elle, for all her lusty thoughts, made me cringe on occasion. She wants him—we get that—but she’s afraid of the repercussions. Makes sense, but then again, why complain? Go for him! I liked that she made her own way and didn’t need a man to make her whole, but I did want to see her succumb to David a bit faster.
The sex scenes are red-hot and not to be missed. You’ll find yourself writhing and squirming along with David and Elle.
If you want a story that’s packed with sex, conflict, and passion, then you need to read After Hours. I give this short story 4 cherries.
