Intergalactic warfare has not been kind to humans. Convicted pilot Zoya Scott has the chance to avenge her family, redeem an act of desperation with that of sacrifice. She’ll end this war if she betrays the man whose touch burns through her soul, the man whose ship and crew she must destroy. The man who is her bloodmate.

Commander Galen Stark never expected the convicted pilot on his ship to be anything more than a good looking inconvenience. A small brush of their hands grips him with vicious lust, a need he can’t control. She is his bloodmate--a biological reaction burning through his veins.

Except his bloodmate carries an explosive. And Stark may have to give the order to destroy them all.

Launch yourself into the middle of an intergalactic war that’s not going exactly per plan for the humans. Stand with Commander Galen Stark as he directs his last resort – a platoon of rookie pilots – in a last ditch effort to turn the tides. And his best chance at doing just that? A convicted pilot with many secrets of her own.

Pilot Zoya Scott is a conundrum. Talented and experienced, she’s hiding her reasons for being where she is and why she’s so desperate to fly for Commander Stark. She’s everything a pilot needs to be –- quick on her feet mentally, confident, intelligent and just a bit cocky. However, she has another side to her that’s in conflict with her outward persona. She is troubled and confused and yet, still determined to carry out her mission. She’s an asset to Stark’s troop for certain. Her illicitly gotten piloting skills come in handy more often than she could have expected. It’s this mix of conflicting personality traits that makes her so intriguing. You want to find out who she really is before it’s too late.

Galen Stark is full-blooded military man to the core. His focus is true -– the end of the war is his only goal. Until the war is over, there is nothing else to even be discussed. Until he meets Zoya. The discovery of his bloodmate throws the ultimate monkeywrench into his plans. It’s always fun to watch a stern and single-minded man come into contact with the woman who is about to change everything for him. Galen isn’t any different. Watching him adjust to having not just a bloodmate, but coping with the changes she brings to his personality is exciting and fun. The fact that he is able to handle her, his emotions, and his war at the same time says a lot for the man himself.

Galen and Zoya are quite the couple. Both are proud, opinionated, and strong-willed individuals. If you just sit back and watch the fireworks as they spark between them, you’ll be in for quite a show. Because, when the two come together, sparks are sure to fly. A fantastical and exciting story of war and love and lust, Cold Victory is a victorious effort from Fiona Jayde, bringing passion into a place where there wasn’t anything but despair.
