Going on vacation during the holidays is stressful enough, but spending Christmas with your girlfriend's family -- whom you've never met -- could have a person committed.

Bryce has a surprise planned for Dolly, but wanting to keep tradition, he must leave Barkus, Kansas, and head to New Orleans to meet Dolly's family. Will Bryce survive the trip?

Dolly is nervous, and rightfully so. She's taking her cute and cuddly boyfriend to meet her family of gator shifters. Can she keep her boyfriend from falling prey to her carnivorous family?

What's a prairie dawg to do when a family of gator shifters asks him to dinner?

Is there a fate worse than meeting your girlfriend’s parents? Yes, if her folks are gator shifters and they have you on the menu for dinner.

Want to know more? Then you need to read Holiday Howlz: Tails and Scales.

This addition to the Holiday Howlz stories revisits some of my favorite characters: Dolly, the gator shifter and Bryce, her prairie dog shifter boyfriend. I liked seeing the next chapter of their relationship—meeting her folks.

The romance in this story is already there because the characters are a solid couple, so that took a bit away for me. I wanted to see it build a bit more, but then tension between them is good. The pacing of the plot keeps you involved through the last page. The world is well-built, making you feel a part of it.

There are a few hiccups that keep Bryce and Dolly apart and they make the story fun. The sex between them sizzles. Yes, you feel their passion as if it was your own. And who knew you could have such a steamy scene on the banks of the bayou? Whew!

If you want a story that will stick with you long after you close the document, then you need to read Tails and Scales. These opposites attracted and it’s a steamy time. I give this story 4 cherries.
