Something magic this way comes…
Wicked³, Book 1
Callie has always known the Abbotts were different. Witches, though they call themselves “Magians”. They are her second family. Harrison Abbott has been her best friend since they were children. Tucker Abbott, her life-long crush. And their brother, Tyghe? A magical pain in her backside.
When the Abbotts need her human perspective to solve a mystery, she doesn’t hesitate. Especially since it means getting everything she ever wanted. A chance to be one of them, to have magic, even if it’s only temporary.
Someone is attacking young women at Triune, a ritual that helps Magians find their perfect threesome—the match that will complete their magic and their hearts. Callie expected to be dazzled by her first glimpse into the Magian world, but the bone-melting desire between her and the Abbott brothers isn’t part of the plan.
Nor is the decades-old secret that makes her the target of a killer…
Callie Turner never knew her family. Growing up with a foster family who basically ignored her, she spent most of her time with best friend Harrison Abbott, and her brothers Tucker and Tyghe. Callie always wished she was like the Abbotts, with special powers, but she is sadly lacking in that area.
However, when girls start being attacked at the Magian ritual known as Triune, where Magians gather to form their perfect triad, Tyghe and Harrison cook up a scheme to make Callie seem magical and catch the one responsible for the attacks. The big problem comes when Callie has to “pretend” to be with both Tucker and Tyghe, and be convincing using “borrowed” powers. There are old secrets waiting to cause great harm, and it could lead to Callie’s death. Can Callie play the role to perfection to help catch the culprit? What is the secret that will change the lives of those concerned? And just when did Callie develop feelings for Tyghe as well as for Tucker?
R. G. Alexander writes hot ménage with a touch of mystery here. Her characters are exquisitely detailed and well-rounded. The world where Callie, Harrison and the brothers live is one I would like to visit, as Ms. Alexander makes it all so real. I love Callie, she is a strong and independent female, but she wishes she had magic in her like her friends. She does have what Harrison calls her “Spidey sense”, an intuition that is never wrong. I love that she is willing to jump in with both feet to help solve the mystery of who is behind the attacks on the Magian girls at Triune.
Tyghe is strong, gorgeous and mischievous, and determined to show Callie his worth. He has a crush on Callie, but has always been overshadowed by his older brother. Now he sees his chance to impress Callie with his own personality. Tucker, the eldest Abbott, is the serious brother, and a Magian police officer. He has waited for Callie to grow up before making his move on her. He never thought he would be sharing her, and with his brother at that. The contrast between the brothers, both so very sexy and hot, is fantastic. They make the perfect foils for each other—Tyghe, the joker and Tucker, the good guy. These are people that you care about, and want to visit again. I know that I certainly enjoyed my visit with the Abbotts, and I do believe others will too.
Do they catch the guilty party? Does Callie get a happy ever after, and is it the one she always imagined? There are surprises and twists that make this a very delicious reading experience, and for the answers to these and other questions, you’ll just have to read the book.
