Driven by raiders, Mary Anne Winters arrives at the Tanner ranch having had enough of men and them telling her what to do. Malcolm Tanner knows a good thing when he sees it. The wicked, arrogant wrangler knows exactly where Mary Anne’s place is--in his bed. That’s exactly where his brother, Mike Tanner, would also like to keep Mary Anne--but honor wouldn’t let Mike corrupt the angel in their midst.
Mary Anne won’t be denied. Awakened to a world of sensual possibilities, she isn’t going to let Mike save her. Coming down to a test of wills, the Tanner brothers are about to realize there is no winning against an angel in love. There is only the fun of giving in.
Innocent Angel… or Fiery Vixen? You be the judge.
Mary Anne Winters may have the face of an angel, but she definitely has a body made for sin and it hasn’t gone unnoticed by Mike and Malcolm Tanner. Left under the protection of the Tanner brothers by her older brother Richard, Mary Anne is determined to take what she wants while stranded out in the wilderness. And what she wants are the Tanner brothers, by any means necessary. Although Mary Anne is feisty, strong-willed, and stubborn as a mule at times, she’s also terrified of what the future has in store for her. Will the feisty little vixen seduce the Tanner brothers to her will? Or, will she embrace her submissive side and realize that having more than one Mr. Tanner isn’t so bad?
Mike Tanner knew from the moment he laid eyes on Mary Anne Winters that she was truly an angel and the woman he wanted in his bed. Or, maybe I should say his and his brother's bed. But his honor and loyalty to Richard Carol, her brother, wouldn’t allow him to take the sexy vixen dressed in oversized clothes to his bed. Unfortunately, his brother Malcolm has no problem walking down the path of hell to get Mary Anne in his bed. What will happen when Mike discovers that Mary Anne and Malcolm have been indulging in scorching hot sexacapdes while he’s out working the ranch? Will he join in or beat his brother to a pulp? Moreover, what will happen when Mary Anne’s brothers return and realize that their sister has willing given up her innocent virtue to at least one Tanner brother? Only time will tell, but what I can tell you is this…looks can be deceiving.
Once again Ms. Penn knocked my socks off with Tanner’s Angel. Although the setting of the story is in the 1800s, she knows how to make the historical era, and men in it, sexy as sin. In all honesty, I wouldn’t have minded being snowed in with Mike and Malcolm, especially considering all the games they like to play. The sex scenes are at times raw, sexy, and sensuous to the point that they’ll blow your mind and have you begging for more. They’ll definitely keep you warm during a blizzard in the wilderness.
Tanner’s Angel is a fast-paced, well-written story that will keep you hanging on the edge of your seat wondering how long it will take Mike to discover the truth about Malcolm and Mary Anne. In addition, the words flowed over the page and the characterizations were so realistic that they brought the characters and story to life, especially when the bantering began between Mary Anne, The Tanners, and her brothers. You can’t help but fall in love with all of them. However, I must admit that there were times I was a little frustrated with Malcolm and Mary Anne for the way they treated Mike, but there’s that old saying… every dog has his day. Well, Mike definitely has his when it comes to Malcolm and Mary Anne.
I hope that Ms. Penn writes a sequel to Tanner’s Angel because I would love to know what happens now that Digger and Charlie, the other two Tanner brothers have returned home. She has definitely left the ending open to a sequel. I’d also love a story about the Carol brothers – hint, hint.
If you’re looking for a captivating, sensual story that will have you laughing from the bantering, and panting from the sex scenes, then Tanner’s Angel is the book to read. Bravo Ms. Penn! Not only have you hit a home run with Tanner’s Angel, but I’d also recommend it to my friends.
