After a nasty divorce, Emmaline St. James is ready to start a new chapter in her life. She moves into a new building and would be quite happy with her new digs if it weren't for her neighbors either side of her apartment.
One is Lucian Lucca, a tall, dark and brooding hunk, but when he smiles, he looks so devilishly wicked Emma would swear he sprouts demon wings. The other is Brennan Adair, also tall, mysterious but otherworldly handsome, and he makes her hot and horny each time he ogles her. Emma's new life would be perfect if it weren't for the fact that Lucian and Brennan are constantly bickering. So she invites them over to discuss their differences
Inviting a demon of lust over might not be a good idea when someone is lonely and emotionally vulnerable. And inviting a fallen angel is a recipe for disaster. Especially when the source of their bickering is Emma. Both Lucian and Brennan want her. Bad.
What is there not to love about Lucian and Brennan? They are both extremely sexy...one is a tall, dark and handsome demon while the other is a model-gorgeous fallen angel. And they both are in love with the same woman. Once her divorce was final they knew it was time to make their move if only they could get rid of the other.
Emmaline had fantasized about both of her neighbors at one time or another, so imagine her shock to find out they both wanted her. Emmaline only did what any smart woman would do in that situation -- take them both up on their offer.
I was happy to see Emmaline having not one, but two men pining over her. Especially after the way her ex-husband treated her. Although they both thought that her few curves were sexy, they also fell in love with the good inside of her. What woman doesn’t want that? We all wish at one point or another that we could find a guy who would love us for who we are, not what we look like.
I like the fact that this was almost like a sexier, dirtier version of the age old good vs. evil conflict, except in this story the angel has a little naughty in him. We poor humans are frequently faced with this conflict: the angel or the devil? I think if good was as hot as Brennan it would make choosing good a little easier. But then again with Lucian as the bad side it would still be a difficult choice.
This author has a dirty mind, and oh how I liked it! The sex scenes in this story were explosive, whether it was between Emmaline and Lucian, Emmaline and Brennan or all three. These two men allowed Emmaline to come out of her sheltered life and enter the world of erotic fantasies. The steamy sex scenes will have you squirming in your seat.
All told, this was a hot read that left me with a smile. Ms. Lee definitely deserves five cherries.
