In her head, Robin wants to marry her boyfriend. Everything about her relationship with Jay makes sense—makes her happy—but she can’t bring herself to accept his proposal. Her body has unfinished business with Patrick, the man who saved her life six years ago. For a long time she assumed her potent feelings for Patrick were born of fear, wrapped up in the night she was attacked, but now she’s realizing it’s far simpler than that. She wants him. Always has, always will.

More attached to Robin than the idea of her being faithful, Jay gives her the green light to go after Patrick in the hopes that it will demystify the man and get him out of Robin’s system. It begs the question—if you’ve got permission, is it still cheating? And which will ultimately sway the heart—reason or attraction?

How do you say no when your fiancé says it’s ok to sleep with the man you are infatuated with? This is what happens to Robin.

She and Jay have moved in together and Jay is ready to settle down and get married. Robin is hesitant. That hesitation is because of Patrick. Patrick and Robin have a history together. He’s done time in prison for defending her, after beating the man who attacked her outside of a bar. Jay hopes that if Robin and Patrick finally get together, she can get Patrick out of her system, and Jay can have his happily ever after.

I always find it a bit difficult to get into a book written in the first person, but as I started reading I was drawn deeper and deeper into the story. The writing was witty and exciting. I was very impressed with how the story evolved and I felt that the reactions and outcome were a very realistic view of what could happen in the real world. These were some of the most erotic make-out scenes I have ever read, and when Robin and Patrick finally had sex I was worried it would be a letdown, after all that beautiful build up. I was so wrong.

If you enjoy unusual HEA’s, if you enjoy tight writing and hot love scenes, then you will thoroughly enjoy Ruin Me.
