Nicholas is shaken up by a prowler in the middle of the night, so he calls 911. Help arrives in the form of big strong policeman James, and they can't deny their mutual attraction.

James is more than happy to take care of Nicholas . . . all night long.

Help me officer! I’ve been accosted by a large, handsome man and I don’t know what to do about it! Well, maybe I don’t, but James and Nicholas certainly do.

Want to know more? You sure do. Then read Law and Ardor, by Jack Greene.

There are more than a few words to describe this story, but the first that came to mind was tender. I’ve read other works by Jack Greene and this one demonstrated a level of tenderness that drew me to the book. Another word choice would be fast-paced. Once I opened the ebook, I was hooked and didn’t look up until the author notes.

Although this was short read, and I wanted to see more character development, I also couldn’t stop thinking about it once I was done reading. I wanted to know what they were up to and how the relationship evolved after the book.

James is one of the few just plain nice guy heroes out there. He’s a cop, yes, but he defies the stereotype that cops are jerks. Nicholas is pretty bold, but even then James goes with the flow. It’s quite sexy.

Nicholas defines a twink — he’s young, slender, good looking, and a bit flamboyant, but it works for him. Some can pull it off and others can’t. I thought it was cute how he wasn’t afraid to show his true fear about the prowler — some men would work hard to be the strong, silent, tough guy. Not Nicholas. He was who he was with no pretensions. More guys should be like that.

If you want a sinfully hot read that will make you think after the book closes, then you need to read Law and Ardor. You won’t regret this 4 cherry read.
