“I’ll call you.” That’s the last thing Gabe said fifteen years ago as Maggie prepared to fly home from a summer in paradise. When he didn’t call, she packed away the memories of their sexual romp and relegated him to vacation-fling status.
Now, as the ink on her divorce papers dries, Maggie returns to that Maui resort hoping to find the carefree woman she once was. When Gabe walks out of the waves on her first afternoon at the beach, she isn’t sure whether to laugh or run away. Hot, crazy vacation sex with no strings attached would be the perfect remedy for her bloody divorce.
Gabe thinks of Maggie as the one who got away, and he’s not about to let it happen again. The passion between them is as fiery as ever, but is it hot enough to rekindle the romance he knows they could share? He’s got one week to prove to her it is.
A sandy beach, a frosty beverage stuck in the sand and my dream man walking out of the ocean right up to my spot on the beach... Yep I could get into that!! You can too, because this is precisely how Thatcher starts this quick read.
This story of lost love recaptured, although short, will still pull you in and tug those heart strings. The author managed to make years of separation drop away and the original feelings just as strong as they were before. I found myself celebrating every kiss . The ending was a surprise that I didn't see coming but it worked in a way I'm not sure another ending could have. It was just right for the heroine in the story.
All on it's own, this is a good read. To make it even more believable check out the free read Maui Heat (also at Ellora's Cave). It's the story of the characters' past relationship. Go ahead and take a mini vacation inside this story, I don't think you'll regret your time there.
