Whitney is ecstatic over her internship to Macedonia and the opportunity to hone her craft at the hands of a filigree master. She doesn’t know that the old man has an ulterior motive. He plans to use her talent to save the dwindling numbers of his family’s canine shapeshifters, the Sharplanjat.

Jovan isn’t a shifter, but his sense of duty rivals that of the Sharplanjat—until his unbridled attraction to the woman who might very well hold his family’s future in her hands forces him to throw caution aside. To hold her. Taste her. Drive her to the brink of exquisite passion and beyond.

Mesmerized by sexy, violet-eyed Jovan, Whitney is ready for a quick, steamy affair. But Jovan has more than a few days of scorchingly wild sex in mind. He just doesn’t know what Whitney will do when she learns his family secret. Will she run screaming in fear or embrace the fantasy that can be found in his protective arms?

Jewelry and dragons and hot kinky sex..oh my! If you like all those things, then this book is for you.

M.A. Ellis writes stories that are hot and engrossing. Filigree and Fantasy fits the bill nicely. When I got this book, I couldn’t wait to read it and devoured it in one sitting. There is a lot going on in this story, but Ms. Ellis’ writing style kept me turning pages, needing to see what happened next. And plot twists? This story has plenty.

The Sharplanjat is a distinguished but dying race. I loved the world Ms. Ellis created for these canine shifters. I couldn’t help but identify with their struggle to survive and thrive. They really aren’t hurting anyone. Jovan is part of the group, but not one of them. I liked that he’s an oddity in his own family because it made him more relatable. He wants to love Whitney but he’s afraid that if he can’t control the situation, he’ll lose her. Whitney and her friend Kevin are the key. They know the fine art of filigree. If they can harness the energy, they can help the Sharplanjat. I liked the complexity of the storyline and the connection between Jovan and Whitney.

And talk about hot scenes! Ms. Ellis writes scenes guaranteed to singe the fingers and I love them that way. Whitney’s desire for Jovan transcends mileage and her fear. Jovan wants no one other than her, but he’s very closed off—afraid to give his heart for fear it’ll be smashed. Both have issues the reader (and I) could totally relate to.

If you want a story with a little bit of everything, action, suspense, sex, and great characters, then this is the book for you. I give Filigree and Fantasy. I give this book 5 cherries!
