At thirty-two, Abby’s pretty much got her shit together. She has a good job, a cozy home, a supportive family...and a biological clock that’s starting to feel more like a time bomb. Turned off the by the cold science of artificial insemination but wary of the complications that might come from enlisting a close male friend, Abby settles on a happy medium. She places an ad in a newspaper and goes in search of men willing to help her conceive the good old-fashioned way.

Believing she's got the best of all worlds, Abby selects two candidates—Noah, a fun, handsome man she instantly connects with, and Rob, a red-hot up-for-anything guy with body to die for. But Abby winds up with far more than the utilitarian, no-strings-attached sex she bargained for, including an impromptu threesome and an unexpected romance that threatens to ruin her best-laid plans.

Abby wants to have a baby without the commitment of a relationship and has enlisted the help of two men, Noah and Rob.

When I first began to read this story I didn’t think I was going to like it because it was told in the present tense and I was reluctant to venture on. I’m glad I did because after reading the first couple of pages, I was hooked. The story is also told in the first person, which I personally always enjoy.

Abby comes across as a real person and we feel for her need to have a child. The explanation of why she doesn’t want to be in a relationship or go the sperm bank route is credible.

The writer allows us to know Noah more than Rob, and he comes across as the more caring of the two male characters. I don’t know if the writer intended it this way but I felt very the very beginning that Noah just didn’t want to father Abby’s baby, but somewhere deep inside he wanted to be a father too. And I also sensed he had feelings for Abby.

The sex is very hot and frequent. Sometimes the things Abby and the two male characters say to one another during sex gets repetitive. I shouldn’t give too much away but let’s just say there’s a very hot ménage nestled in this story.

I didn’t know whether to expect a happy ending for Abby but let’s just say the conclusion did satisfy me. The length was also perfect for this type of story.

If you’re looking for a smoldering hot story, but not necessarily a romance, this might be for you.
