Takan has hidden who he is for three thousand years, but the time for secrecy is coming to an end. He knows it, and more importantly, Ra knows it. To complicate matters, Takan has found his mate. And she means more than happily-ever-after and smokin’ hot sex. She’s the key to ending the demon god Apep’s threat to the mortal realm. Too bad Takan, and who he is, scares the bejesus out of her.
Falon lost her love years ago to the bite of an undead and has spent her nights hunting the creatures ever since. When she happens upon a man fighting the same fight as she, relief overcomes her. She’s not alone. But when she kisses him and discovers his fangs, she does what any warrior girl would do—she stabs him.
Just as the couple is coming to terms with their relationship, Ra drops a bomb that changes Takan forever, and Falon discovers her true destiny. The couple must deal with a new beginning while bringing an end to an age-old battle.
Foreseen Hunger is one of those books that makes you happy and sad at the same time. I was so happy to read it because it was the latest from a favorite author and yet I was sad to see that it was the book that wraps up the series. In this book we get Taken’s story. He finally meets his mate and his secrets are revealed. Falon is not only Taken’s mate but also the key to winning their ancient fight against evil. Taken must learn to deal with that as well as his secrets being revealed.
I loved going back into the world of Ra’s Chosen. Each and every one of the warriors is special in their own way. Yet it seems many readers enjoy Taken the most and I am among them. He is a strong man who loves everyone with all his heart. We see the depth of his love for his mate in this story as he allows her to make the important decisions in their relationship no matter what the costs are to him. Falon is a strong woman who has been fighting the undead for her own reasons and when she meets Taken she finds that she is not alone in her battle. She also finds that she has strong feelings for him and is not sure what to do about them. Watching Taken pursue Fallon was a great read. The two make a wonderful couple, working off of each other’s strengths.
Marisa Chenery has woven a wondrous world full of romance and magic in this series and this book is a great wrap up to this series. I really enjoyed the emotion and depth of the characters in this book, making it one that should not be missed.
