Jordan Sumner is ready to embrace her new life. After nearly dying at the hands of her mother, moving to a new town offers new possibilities. First on her agenda? Get a tattoo. She just doesn't expect the tattoo artist to be so incredibly sexy or for her to recognize him as the guardian angel who saved her life years ago.
Gabriel Wilder knows the minute he sees Jordan she's different from any other woman he's ever met. A fallen angel with no memory of his past, he senses Jordan is linked to him. He's drawn to her sexually--in every sort of way. They're meant for each other and no matter how much he fights it, he knows it's a waste of his time.
An unknown evil is sent from Jordan's past and is ready to sink its claws into her. Gabe must fight to save what he considers his--Jordan. But is he strong enough to fend off the demon who wants Jordan as his sacrifice, now that he's fallen...fallen for her?
“She owed him everything. He took her from death and gave her life. He was an angel. A black angel.”
Jordan Sumner wanted a tattoo to show that she was free from her past and glad to be alive thanks to her Guardian Angel. She wants a pair of angel wings tattoo on her back. The moment tattoo artist Gabriel Wilder met Jordan in the tattoo shop, it is as if “all control went flying out the window.” I thought was rushing into the sex scenes, but then Ms. Erickson pulled a fast one and threw in a lot of road blocks to stall the hot and steamy scenes. It's hard not to be pulled into a book where the hero seems to fight the sexual heat he feels for the heroine.
I do love when an author has a big bad alpha male like Gabriel who was quick to let Jordan Sumner know that he was “not a nice guy, but then runs like a rabbit because a little slip of a girl scares the shit out of him.” He fought love long and hard before he finally gave in. Ms. Erickson does an amazing job in twisting the plot and keeping the conflicts going between Gabriel and Jordan until the end.
The mystery, suspense and crazy courting dance combined with Gabriel’s loss of memory and his alpha attitude all made an interesting mix. And the narrative went a long way in making the book extraordinary. Reading the bedroom scenes were both funny and hot. It was not until the end that the evil surrounding them both became known, keeping me on the edge of my seat until the last chapter. Fallen is definitely a great story and one that will make a lasting impression on you.
