After his capture by a rogue vampire coven, Gunnar, alpha werewolf and head of Neo’s Realm security, was viciously turned into a vampire. Although Gunnar was eventually rescued, he refuses to accept the vampiric side of himself.
Centuries earlier, Ramiro was also changed against his will, but he’s learned to accept himself and make the best of his new life. He knows he has his hands full with Gunnar, but there is something about the confused werevamp that pulls at his once-human side. As head of security for the vampire king, Ramiro has the reputation of being a cold-hearted warrior, but he wasn’t always that way. As he continues to coach Gunnar through the transition, he begins to yearn for things he hasn’t wanted in centuries, love.
Gunnar hates being seen as weak by Ramiro. Never has he allowed someone to take care of him, especially someone he considers an equal in battle. Giving in to his body’s desires won’t come easy, but Gunnar begins to fear for his own sanity if he continues to push the vampire away.
Sometimes, those who don't love themselves need someone to love them and help them find themselves. This story demonstrates this perfectly. Gunnar used to love himself, but that all changed when he was captured by a rogue vampire and turned into one himself after spending centuries as a werewolf. The only person that was able to get him through those dark times was Ramiro. Ramiro was able to see the vampire Gunnar could be even when Gunnar couldn’t see it himself.
If you have not read any of the previous stories in this series, you may feel a little lost occasionally. It is well worth it to go back and read the other two stories, especially since they are extremely entertaining, as is this story. You will also enjoy the recurring characters seen throughout this story, including the two main characters of Crimson Moon.
This story is truly one of inspiration. Gunnar has not fully accepted that he is now a vampire. Ramiro is determined to show Gunnar that being a vampire can be a fantastic life -- including the sex, which is definitely a perk these two enjoy. I felt like a voyeur peeking in on the intimate emotions and actions of these enchanting men.
The dynamic plots of this story keep me glued to the screen. You have the romantic plot, of course, and the series plot that just gets better and better. It is so elaborate you have to pay attention to everything going on around you. I say "around you" because you will feel as if you are there with the characters taking a stroll through the woods, or camping out waiting for the enemy.
Love conquers all including these two sexy men. So if you want to read a story about the power of love this story will definitely inspire you.
