Bridget Reilly has lived her entire life using dark glasses to hide her deformed eyelids. But she also hides her real self, working a dead-end job and locking herself away from any social life. In secret she lusts for her next-door neighbor, Navy SEAL Clay Randall, a lust unexpectedly fed during an electrical blackout.

When a masked ball provides the opportunity for her to have an entire night of glorious, unrestrained, erotic sex with Clay, how can she ignore it? The night more than exceeds all her expectations and now she wants to find a way to have a real relationship with him, without the mask. She applies to the Durban Trust, a fund set up by a former movie star to provide plastic surgery, and the surgery is successful. But what she hadn’t counted on was Clay’s reaction when she revealed all to him—and the wedge it would drive between them.

Sensitive and shy, Bridget Reilly has been hiding her whole life because of the emotional pain caused by a deformity of her which has left her ridiculed and shunned. She lives her life behind dark glasses, avoiding intimate contact and public notice.

Eventually the profound emptiness of such a life drives her to act in the extreme. Having fallen in love with the handsome Navy Seal who lives next door, she longs for a chance to be near him and to experience what most women her age take for granted: to be touched, desired and loved by a special man. So, she sets out to have an anonymous overnight affair with him that, for her, is about fulfilling her need to be loved and give love as well as her passionate erotic desires.

Bridget manages to get tickets to a costume ball when she learns that Clay is on the guest list without a date. The event turns into an evening of seduction when the two meet incognito. Both are swept into a magnetic, hot attraction and soon they are spending the night in each others arms. From the moment that they leave the ball early, Bridget insists that they leave their masks on for the night. The experience turns out to be more than either of them expected.

Clay has never found a woman he wanted to settle down with, but has always been a much desired player. Now, he finds that he is inexplicably moved by the mysterious woman who has captured his senses and his imagination with overwhelming and intense passion and tenderness. When he wakes in the morning to find she has gone, he realizes that she has stolen his heart and he will never stop looking until he finds her. In fact, Clay has learned that 'love at first sight' does exist.

This is an unusual and sentimental story of hopes and dreams come true. It strikes a chord of realization that we are all vulnerable and human. It is a fantasy... but one in which we all share, of overcoming our limitations and having our deepest needs met. Ms. Holt told this tale in a beautiful and sensitive way that really touched my heart. I loved how she deftly and subtly brought the insecure heroine to a place of confidence and personal power. This story inspires hope, and that's something we all need.

The realistic descriptions bring life and color to this vividly told tale. There is steamy sex, romantic interludes and a Navy Seal who comes to his senses and makes a beautiful woman very happy. If you love a story with a big dose of heart, you will love, Bedroom Eyes. I earnestly recommend it.
