Olivia Worthington has a problem. A guy she barely knows has stolen precious jewels from the museum where she works, and it’s all her fault. Distrustful of the police, she seeks her ex-boyfriend’s help. When she draws him into a hornet’s nest of trouble, she wonders if he’ll walk away for good.
Computer geek and security expert Grady Long was just starting to get over Olivia when she shows up on his boat begging for help. How is he supposed to resist the woman who regularly walks through his dreams? But his weakness for her may cost him more than he has to give.
If there’s one thing that Olivia has learned in life, it’s that she will be rejected by any man she loves. Since childhood it has been the one constant for her. So when she falls in love with gorgeous, blue eyed security expert, Grady Long she knows she has to leave before he, too turns away from her. That was three months ago. Now Olivia has returned to ask Grady to help her get out of a dangerous mess that she doesn’t know how to handle alone.
Olivia’s job at the museum is jeopardized when priceless jewels are stolen because of her poor judgment. Rather than take a chance at losing her job by involving the police, she wants Grady to help her retrieve the stolen property so she can safely return it herself. What she doesn’t know is that their lives will both be risked by the venture. What she does know, is that she can’t keep her hands off of Grady. The scorching heat between them is mutual and soon the fire must be quenched.
Grady hasn’t been able to forget Olivia. When she shows up again, he sets out to find a way to keep her in his life for good. He doesn’t understand why she left him suddenly without giving a reason but knows that the passionate, lovely young woman has captured his heart. When he tries to convince her to explain why she left him, all she will say is that she’s no good at relationships and that she is sorry she hurt him.
I really liked the way Grady persistently led Olivia to open up and trust. Her deep seated fears and insecurities could have ruined her life if not for his love and faith in her. This story showed how the strength of a person’s love can break down emotional barriers. The romance in this story was sweet and passionate. It really inspired me to have hope for the couple to work through their obstacles.
The sex scenes in this tale were extremely well done and smoking hot. Ms. Daniels very effectively involves her reader in the erotic action. The story had some unfortunate editing errors, otherwise I would have rated it higher. However, I enjoyed this steaming, suspenseful romance with a charming and tender side to it and I am happy to recommend it.
