Who says getting eaten by a shark is a bad thing?

That Old Black Magic, Book 3

Willa Jameson is having one whopper of an identity crisis. Odd memory flashes that aren’t hers. A sultry voice in her head that’s obsessed with sex. Even weirder, she finds herself in the jaws of a rogue leviathan, dragged to the bottom of the ocean—and rescued by a hunky…shark?

The last thing Sheriff Max Truitt expects to find on his daily, deep-Atlantic patrol is a human—especially one who breathes underwater. Compelled to take her home, he waits for the beauty to wake up and reveal her name. Instead he’s treated to a punch in the nose, then a sexy romp hot enough to boil water.

The next morning, embarrassed by the sizzling, scandalous things the voice in her head drove her to do, Willa slips away. But if there’s one thing a determined shark excels at, it’s tracking his favorite meal.

Solving the mystery that is Willa is no simple task. When they finally unlock a dangerous secret hidden deep in her subconscious, it drives a wedge between them…and puts them in a desperate race against an evil that seeks to rain down a watery Armageddon on all mankind.

Jodi Redford has a way with hot and sexy shifter stories, and this one is no exception.

Willa Jameson realizes her life has gone totally out of control when she finds herself being dragged to the depths of the Atlantic in the tentacles of a leviathan. She has been having flashes of memory that she doesn’t recognize, and a voice in her head urges her to do naughty things with the sexy and hot shark shifter who rescued her from the deep.

When Willa and Max track down her Aunt Aurele, Willa learns that her life as she remembers it is all a lie-she isn’t just a powerful witch, she is actually a nymph, and the only living descendent of the royal family of Atlantis. Even her memories of her parents' accident are false; they were actually murdered by an evil woman wanting to seize the throne. But can Willa do what is necessary to break through the memory wipe and regain the truth of who, and what, she really is? Can Max, her sexy shark, and his friend Boone take her to the heights of passion needed to release her inner nymph? Can they defeat the evil Reva once and for all?

I love this world Ms. Redford has crafted, with the unique mix of normal humans, shifters, witches and other strange and interesting beings. This is the third visit to this world by Ms Redford, and I enjoyed catching up with Willa, who was instrumental in the happy ever after in book two.

Willa Jameson is a confused young woman, with voices in her head and memories she doesn’t understand. She is a strong and talented witch, but she soon realizes that there is something more inside, and she becomes more determined than ever to uncover the truth. I enjoyed watching as she came to terms with each new piece of the past that had been taken from her, and loved her determination to regain the memories that had been erased.

Maxwell ‘Max’ Truitt is the Sheriff in his part of the Atlantic. As a shark shifter, he patrols the Atlantic waters, keeping the area safe for humans and shifters alike. He is strong and sexy and loyal to his friends and family. I liked his protective streak where Willa was concerned, and his total inability to resist her inner nymph when she popped in for a quick visit. I loved his noble idea that he wasn’t good enough for Willa, who is a princess, and how that idea clashed with the man who felt that she was his.

There are several intertwining threads to this one. Willa’s emerging nymph, the secrets of the past, and the danger still ready to pounce all come together to provide edge of your seat reading. There are several very hot scenes between Willa and Max, courtesy of the nymph, and the scene where Max and Boone finally break through the mind wipe to bring Willa’s past and present into alignment is one of the hottest I’ve read. The secondary characters are all well crafted, and I hope that Boone will get his own story somewhere down the line as well. Do Max and Willa find her Aunt Aurele, defeat Reva, and find a happy ever after? You will need to read Maximum Witch to find the answer to that one.

When Kat’s boyfriend takes her to an upscale restaurant, she’s certain he’s going to give her the two-carat princess cut she’s always dreamt of. Instead she finds herself being dumped. Thrown into a downward spiral, she ponders his claim that he’s looking for someone who needs him to take control so he can feel complete.

Driven by personal tragedy and determined that she can at least be adventurous between the sheets, Kat embarks on a sexual journey involving titillating phone sex and a growing obsession with the toy catalog. Soon she’s led into the darker world of bondage and whippings, only to be jumped by a group of men with a fascinating and fearless leader. Pushed to her limits, she struggles against the dark seduction. Until she discovers the leader’s secret.

Deliciously naughty is what this story is. When Katherine (Kat) finds herself suddenly single she decides to explore a part of herself she never knew existed. Kat goes from a good girl who does everything by the book to a vixen looking for her next sexual high and I absolutely devoured every minute of it.

This story drew me in from the very beginning and held me in a bear hug up until the last word. While the direction of the plot was evident to me, it did not make it any less entertaining. This was one of the best storylines I have read in a while and I absolutely relished it. I really cannot say one specific thing that really made this story a standout because everything was done to make it extremely satisfying.

Kat’s exploration was one that many of us wish we could do ourselves. At one point in most females' lives, they discover their sexuality and go from just okay sex to mind blowing, leg-quivering satisfaction. Whether it is with a partner or ourselves, we realize what works for us and what does not. I wanted to clap my hands at those moments of epiphany, to show my support when Kat finally got to know who she really was.

If you cannot tell by my review so far, sex was the focus in of this story. Not just any sex, but sexual discovery. During this discovery, Kat is “kidnapped” and seduced. While her mind may be telling her it is wrong, she very much enjoys the experience and had clear lust for her main aggressor prior to the incident. Additionally, while others assist the main seducer they do not penetrate or have any real sexual contact with Kat. Therefore, if forced seduction or ménage’s are not your thing I think you may still find this scene tastefully executed. I am sure this will be the first of many of Author Em Petrova stories I read.

Treasure never dates clients. A rule that ensures repeat business in the real estate market. But when her sexy-as-all-get-out buyer hinges his offer of purchase on her willingness to have dinner with him, she wavers. If ever there was a reason to look the other way, this was it. The fact she can’t wait to see what wicked things he’ll do to her body is just an added bonus.

Soren hoped to secure a primo home when he arranged to view a penthouse. He didn’t expect to be taken to his knees by the scent of his would-be mate. Being in close proximity has his wolf clawing to get to her. Or get on her. He’s not picky. But it’s tricky with these mortals. Soren must find a way to let her know about his furry side without sending her screaming into the outskirts of Toronto. His mating urge will push his control to the limits—especially when Treasure takes every opportunity to get him to go all the way.

How many of us believe in love at first sight? That's what seems to happen to real Estate agent, Treasure. While she is showing her latest penthouse, she comes across the most tantalizing man. Soren has come to look at the penthouse but finds more than a place to stay. He finds his mate. Can Soren last long enough to woo Treasure or will he finally loose his control?

This fast paced story is a cute read. The romance between Treasure and Soren begins right from the start. I loved the interaction between the two. They make a great couple. Soren is a great man who has all the good intentions one can have. Seeing a strong man like Soren have a weakness like seasickness and his willingness to deal with it for his mate was a nice thing. He wants to tell Treasure what he is and give her the chance to decide on whether she wants to stay with him or not. Watching the sparks between the two turn into fireworks made for a wonderful read.

Treasure is a good woman who wants to believe in true love. She has yet to find it but soon changes her mind after meeting Soren.

Werewolf’s Treasure is a great continuation of this series. Seeing the other werewolves and their mates from the previous books was a nice treat and it was nice to visit with the others from the pack again. I loved seeing Soren find his mate and cannot wait to see who will be the next to find theirs.

Do you believe in love at first sight? Jonathan does: the moment he glimpsed the striking David from afar, he was hooked, but David disappeared before they could meet.

More than three years later, Jonathan gets a second chance—he and David finally meet face to face, and the two fall into a passionate love affair. David turns Jonathan’s previously lonely life into a fairy tale, giving him more than he ever imagined. But the past few years have been hard for Jonathan, and he’s terrified that his young son and scandalous past will be too much for David. If they’re going to build a future together, they’re both going to have to dig deep: David for the courage to share himself in a way he’s never considered… and Jonathan for the strength to tell the truth.

Love at first sight is rare enough but when it happens to two people, it may be something special. Or so Jonathan hopes. Jonathan saw the man of his dreams by chance on a trip to New York City. Determined to make that dream a reality he moved there but finding his man wasn’t as easy as Jonathan would have liked. After a few heartbreaking and life changing years, Jonathan returns home only to run into David, the man of his dreams, in a chance encounter. Now that Jonathan finally has the man of his dreams, he has to keep him, which means exposing his deep dark secret.

Love at First Sight is a very sweet, gentle romance. Although this is a book in the Home series, you don’t have to read the previous books to appreciate this one. Previous characters and couples appear throughout the story but the appearances are always very brief and inconsequential. In fact I’ve read the previous books but couldn’t remember the various couples and that didn’t affect this book at all. This story relies on super sweet romance that verges into being corny and a lot of coincidences. This is not something that always resonates well with me but readers who don’t mind inconsistencies or can overlook convenient setups likely won’t be bothered when these are used here.

Instead the romance and instant love and chemistry is the focus. This isn’t a surprise either from the series, the author or the title so fans of the author know going in that the stories tend to be heavy on the love and absent of any conflict. David and Jonathan meet, fall madly in love right away and proceed to have happy, mind blowing sex throughout the rest of the book. This isn’t bad per se if that’s what you’re looking for in a book and the "no complications, no drama, no problems" aspect will definitely appeal to some readers. The theme of love being everything and all things dominates the book as the happy couple oozes their love over everything and everyone (pun intended). Again this will appeal to certain readers who want that and while I don’t mind such a theme on occasion, this particular story went way too far into corny and obvious to truly appeal to me.

Jonathan and David are nearly perfect in their respective ways without much nuance or depth. The various secondary characters are exaggerations – from the two-year-old who speaks nearly perfect and complicated English to the various insane family members and friends who appear and, though I can’t believe I’m saying this, there are actually too many sex scenes.

Again this is all personal preference. While I may not have loved this for me, I can easily see why this story may appeal to readers who want an uncomplicated story about two men who fall, and stay, in love. It’s definitely sweet with a firm happy ending.

The glare of the spotlight, the paparazzi cameras, the tabloid snickers and the bad influence that flows as fast as a river through it all—can love really survive the rigors of fame?

Set against the backdrop of Music City, The Green Room is the story of Janey Mills, an unconventional talent scout, and Anthony Keenan, the man pegged as the 'Next Big Thing'. With Janey by his side, Anthony shoots to fame through a whirlwind tour, a record-breaking album release and all the trappings of sudden fortune.

Their love flourishes—but when the damned trio of sex, drugs and rock & roll enter the picture, they learn the darker side of fortune and fame. Can their growing love survive under the glare of the stage lights?

A peep into the world of sex, drugs and rock and roll – the beginning of this novel is exactly as you would expect it to be: hot sex in public, the lure of a contract, the siren call of drugs and the spiral out of control. The first half is exactly what I expected, and so rather predictible. It just didn't keep my attention well.

I am happy to report that the second half of the story is the exact opposite! It still contains all of the sordid elements of the first half, but there was a change in the writing, in the tone of the narration. It became much easier to be involved in the plot and in the lives of the characters.

I admit, tears flowed freely during many of the pivotal events illustrated in the second part of the book. I find this an endearing quality of the book because it means I was completely involved in the characters' lives, and it is also the reason I would recommend this book, despite the slow start.

While the music and music career provide a vehicle for all sorts of bad behavior to get the book started, it becomes much more than a “music book” or even a “sexy book” – it becomes a romance. True, it is studded with the voracious sexual appetite we all believe musicians have, and the sometimes violent and slightly deviant sexual behaviors we would connect to them. But in the end, it becomes a story of hard work, love, and redemption.

Give yourself some time to get through this book, and then allow yourself to fall in love with the characters. You’ll be glad you did!

When Olivia Sheppard left the service, she had no idea what to do with her life. She never thought she’d wind up as head of security, and so much more, for trendy club owner and international mystery man Noah Lazarus. Breaking her rule of non-fraternization with the boss, Olivia and Noah begin a torrid affair.

Steamy sex isn’t enough to win a woman like Olivia, and Noah knows it. But he’s compelled to win her. Unfortunately, he has a secret, one that may cost Olivia her life. What he doesn’t know is whether Olivia can love and accept him for who he is. Or whether he can keep her alive long enough to prove that love can last for all eternity.

He’s waited eight hundred years for his true soulmate. Now he has to convince her that she’s meant to be his. Olivia Sheppard is a strong-minded, no-nonsense modern woman. She has it all under control. She takes a new job as head of security for the sexiest and, in some ways strangest, man she’s ever met. Why is he so pale? Why does he wear dark glasses? Why does she feel like he can read her thoughts? And why oh why does she keep having such hot dreams about him?

Noah Lazarus is an alpha male vampire and he has been alone for eight hundred years. He’s not about to let anything prevent him from wooing and winning his one true mate. I found both characters interesting and complex and I sympathized with them right away.

The most important aspect between Olivia and Noah is how they slowly build deeper trust for each other. They experience intense sexual and romantic attraction from the very first meeting. The intense attraction is rather daunting for Olivia and later has trouble accepting it when she finds out that she’s dating a modern day vampire. But Noah manages to win her over with patience, charm and exceptional sexual skills. Once he earns her trust, they are able to join together and fight the external forces that are threatening them.

Ms. Masters does an excellent job of mixing tight sensual tension, plentiful steamy sex encounters and lots well developed action between Olivia and Noah and the bad guys. This is truly an action packed, emotionally charged story! I enjoyed Eternal Soulmate and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a high action, sexy paranormal romance.

Andros was a severely disabled geek working for STORM but now he’s a powerful shape-shifting dragon. Still a geek though. Meeting Faye when they’re sharing the same air space is a bit of a shock they quickly overcome in a convenient hotel room. Hot, fast, rampant sex is just what Andros needs. Tangling with Faye between the sheets, against her desk, pretty much anywhere he can have her takes energy Andros now has in abundance. But he won’t let his emotions follow.

Faye never met anyone in her long life as exciting as Andros. But he works for STORM, Faye’s enemy. She’s never had anyone so young, either. But she can’t resist his strength, his determination—or his ripped body. Together they must hunt down a mutual enemy, but to defeat him they have to come to terms with what they are, were and will become.

Andros spent his whole life fighting an illness, just to go back to being disabled, but Andros is willing to do anything to save Faye, the woman he has fallen for. The dedication Andros displays in this story is astounding. Anyone who has read previous stories will recognize Andros, but in this story, he is definitely new and improved. It really displayed who he is other than the disabled little brother of Ania.

Faye’s character was one I absolutely adored even if I am a bit puzzled by her. At some moments in the story, I had to wonder how she did not see the obvious. She was an extremely intelligent woman, but her emotions really clouded her judgment at times. I am not sure if that was a quality that the author intended to have, or if it just happened. With that said, Faye had an inner strength that would challenge the most alpha male within any story. One of her strongest attributes was to realize when she is wrong and to tried her best to correct her mistakes. She is a female all of us could relate to, in one way or another, and wants to be like in other ways.

This series has always captivated me with its conflicts. Author Lynne Connolly has always had a way of making the antagonistic conflict evident on one aspect and yet completely obscure in other ways. It's a quality that has always really intrigued me and I find it adds a depth to the story. This book continues that tradition and once again it absolutely amazed me. The twist she incorporated was absolutely puzzling and exciting and kept me interested.

At the end of this story, I found myself wanting more. This is a quality that keeps an author in business and anyone who reads this story will be happy to keep Author Lynne Connolly in business for a long time.

Double D Ranch Tales, 1

Two people scared to love again. Two others hesitant about commitment. A weekend in Nevada will change all that.

Bristol Ashcombe is swearing off men and taking a vacation with her friend, Cassie. Damon Dougan is packed and ready to leave the ranch for a trip, that is, until a long-legged, sexy woman steps out of a vehicle and he decides to stay. Will one sex-filled weekend be enough for either of them?

Cassie Harding travels to the Double D ranch to meet Bristol and looks forward to seeing her old friend, Dakota. Dak’s excited when Cassie, his former sweetheart, returns. Cassie and Dakota, though they’re heating up ‘the sheets’ in and out of the bedroom, have fears about commitment after years of being single. Will they find it’s better to dance together than apart?

Wild West Weekend is a feel good romp, with the bonus of not one but two sexy hot cowboy brothers!

Bristol & Damon - Part One

I think the term “once burned twice shy” could fit both Bristol and Damon to a T.

Bristol should be riding high on the success of her Broadway show, but something is missing. After a failed marriage, she needs a break and agrees to meet up with an old friend at the Dougan Ranch. Bristol is one major New York City diva. She is delightful and funny to read about. She is absolutely oblivious to the workings of a Nevada working ranch. All you can do is smile and shake your head right along with Damon at her mannerisms and cluelessness. She is utterly wonderful.

I adore Damon. He is so laid back and charming, I could just eat him up with a spoon. I can honestly say that Damon was totally broadsided in his last relationship. His leeriness to have another relationship is well-founded and believable. Still, Bristol intrigued him from the moment he saw her stepping out of the limousine.

The romance between Bristol and Damon was rushed but considering they only had a weekend, I understand why. The chemistry they had was combustible and just plain cute. I would have enjoyed reading about a full month’s vacation with these two. I finished Part One wanting more. No, needing more. I will have to say well done to the author for engaging me, pulling me into the story.

Cassie and Dakota - Part Two

Hmmm, how to sum up these two lovers? They only got better with age. Cassie and Dakota fell in love as teenagers, but life got in the way for them.

Dakota stayed on at his family ranch never knowing what happened to his first love. He dove head first into the management of the ranch, never finding time to fall in love again. Twenty years later, he is looking forward to seeing Cassie again. Can he survive being rejected by her a second time?

Life is what happened to Cassie. She loved her summers at the ranch, but circumstances and heartbreak kept her from returning. Older and wiser, she decides to look up her old flame. Trouble is she is not the same sweet teenager he once knew. Cassie has a dark past, and she is worried that straight-laced Dakota may not be able to handle her taboo side.

I found Cassie and Dakota’s story a bit more realistic. They had a past and a foundation to work from. My only disappointment was, who was this stranger in town and what was the purpose in the story? Beyond that, I enjoyed their interactions and how she was able to blend her past sexual experiences into the present to help Dakota move beyond some of his current issues. I found myself cheering them on throughout the story.

This book has two overlapping short stories happening on the same timeline. It was enjoyable to read the separate accounts of these two couples. It made the book unique for me and I was able to set my focus on the enjoyment of each individual couple.

The ending was tied up wonderfully. As I was coming to the end of the book I was about ready to throw it up in the air and shout, “What about Bristol and Damon?” Thank you, thank you, and thank you for the unique twist at the end. It was a delightful little present tied up in a great big bow. The collaboration in this book was well written and flowed seamlessly, great work and job well done! I look forward to future endeavors between the two of you again.

Jacob Williams was used to men hitting on him, but little does he realize Guy Franks has waited hundreds of years to find his mate and nothing was going to dissuade him from a relationship, even the man himself. When someone starts killing models, Guy knows its time to claim the man fated to be his.

Sometimes it only takes an instant to know your fate. Guy is certain the beautiful model he meets by chance in a bar one night is his mate. Yet Jacob is not quite as willing to give into Guy’s domineering ways. When Guy realizes Jacob could be the next target of a serial killer, he has to decide whether to confide in Jacob about his magic or try to protect the man without him knowing.

Modeling Death is a decent enough book with extreme characters and a focus more on sex appeal than the murder-mystery portion. The main characters, Jacob and Guy, are thinly developed and pretty shallow. They are one-dimensional in that they are simply perfect exaggerations. Jacob is gorgeous, sweet, super successful but never bitter or mean instead he’s the most kind model there ever was, the most hard working, the most beloved of all clients and photographers. He’s so perfect that it’s hard to feel any connection since he never steps out of that perfection into any realness. Likewise Guy is simply there to grunt, grumble and be possessive over Jacob while being filthy rich, handsome, and loving.

The story has a murder mystery plot with a serial killer going after models but this never really materializes much. Additionally there is a paranormal aspect with Guy being a wizard and Jacob having some kind of latent magic he doesn’t know about but this element isn’t well described so much as simply stated. The writing is decent with an emphasis on the cute interactions between Jacob and Guy. There are a few sex scenes to satisfy fans and mostly this serves as an easy enough to read but forgettable story.

This is apparently a sequel to an existing book but I think it easily can be read on its own. Fans of the author are likely to appreciate the book as it stays within the same parameters as most of her books. The same positive and negative qualities seem to persist from book to book without much change so if you’re familiar with Kell you know what you’re getting. It’s a fun book to pass the time with.

A secret society of younger sons, sworn to aid and abet each other, no matter the scandal or cost.... Their fathers and brothers may rule the world, but they run it . . . and when it comes to passion, they refuse to accept second best.

Searching for hidden treasure, finding forbidden fantasy.

London's most sensual former courtesan, Viola Whedon, is incapable of being seduced-she does the seducing. Until she meets Leonidas Vaughn. Her salacious memoirs have made her the target of half the lords in England, and Vaughn is the only man she can turn to. When he promises to protect her-and to make her beg for his touch-the alluring beauty finds both offers impossible to refuse.

Leonidas Vaughn secretly believes Viola possesses a fortune given to his family by the King of France. So the strong and sexy Vaughn charms his way into Viola's life . . . and her bed. But when their arrangement is consummated, he'll experience pleasure far beyond his wildest fantasies-and realize his heart may need the most protection of all.

A blackmailing heroine locks horns with a lying hero on a mission and the sparks fly. I liked the premise of Ripe for Pleasure very much. It has a grittiness that is different and is a romance with a no excuses, less-than-pure heroine. I found it very refreshing. Viola is intelligent and worldly with a hard exterior just as one would expect from her life experience. Her character seems perfectly crafted to show a woman in her times making due with few choices. Despite being presented as a blackmailer, she’s a very likable character and she treats the hero well considering all their differences.

Yes, the hero, Leo, lies to the heroine and those lies place her in danger. However one has to keep in mind, he’s a hero to a woman who is blackmailing her former protectors. He’s a man trying to catch our heroine in her underhanded tactics. So one has to take things in their relative state. And he feels bad later about having placed her in danger. He’s certainly has the other traits of a historical hero, he’s charming, sexy and alpha.

Ms. Carr does an excellent job of highlighting the class differences between Viola and Leo’s families. She creates a beautiful, lush historical world while her prose and style are intriguing and draw the reader in. The external factors like The League of Second Sons are given little of the spotlight in this story but that is exactly what I would expect. The focus is on the erotic and romantic relationship between hero and heroine, exactly as it should be in a shorter erotic romance.

The sexual part of the plot had one nit. For some reason the initial sexual consummation between Leo and Viola is not shown, only referred to after the fact. I found that a little jarring and felt thereafter like I had just caught a train while it was running and was struggling to gain my bearings in the story. But that sense faded fairly fast, though I still felt sort of cheated at not getting to see the start of their affair. The sexual scenes are more sensual than emotional. It works for this story and these characters. It’s easy to see how Viola and Leo are right for each other they just have a cooler emotional effect when they come together than another pair of characters might. The sexual scenes are sexy and written to a spicy level of heat. Those scenes are the heart and soul of Ripe for Pleasure, just as it should be for an erotic romance.

Viola’s dog Pen is a charming companion and added a nice, lighthearted touch. Leo’s sister Beau is a charming character and one I am looking forward to hearing more about in the next book, Ripe for Scandal. I thought that Leo restrained himself too long in dealing with the villain. I didn’t totally buy that he had to because the villain was family. There’s a nice clever twist at the end that I liked very much.

Overall this was a fast-paced, sexy read and I recommend it to anyone looking for something different and spicy in a historical romance. I will certainly read Ripe for Scandal.

Lócarë Sereth has made punishing Fyn Du-ket her life’s goal. The man defiled her beloved sister, turning her into a submissive slut. Now it was Du-ket’s turn to get a taste of his own medicine, because Lócarë intended to do to him all of the humiliating things he’d done to her sister.

Angry that he’d allowed a mere woman to take him hostage, Fyn Du-ket vows to turn the tables on his prim captor. As a skilled trainer of submissive slaves, he’d show her exactly how good it felt to be bad. Oh, yes, she succumbs, but there's a slight hitch in the plan: he never realized he could become a slave. To love.

She hates him, he resents her, they are both hungry for revenge yet they have explosive hot sex. A strong man takes a hard fall and finds himself better off for it. Locare wants revenge on this evil pirate for turning her sister into a submissive. She captures Fyn and makes him submit to her will. Now Fyn vows to get his revenge on her.

Honestly for me, Locare is far easier to like and relate to than Fyn is. While Locare is a strong minded woman with a deep heart and deeper yet loyalties, Fyn seems to be driven primarily by his need to obtain things: money, the submission of women, etc. Fyn was once in love and lost, and it made him hard and bitter. I think readers might well find him fascinating and exciting, especially watching Locare give him his comeuppance.

Much of their sex in the beginning involves deep discussion of what Fyn did sexually with Locare’s sister. There’s also an aspect of forced seduction. Some readers with delicate sensitivities may find these two aspects disconcerting. Yet both were entirely necessary to the plot.

And what a supercharged plot it is. There’s plenty of conflict here, never a boring moment in this story. There’s plenty of sexual heat here as well. The sex scenes are well written and definitely a battle of wills type of situation with strong emotional energy. Hot sex brings the Fyn and Locare closer and they fight their way in the erotic arena to a happy ending.

Pirate’s Slave is a hot, hard-driving romance that left me breathless. I highly recommend it.

Ladies, start your search engines…

The closest Arden Walsh has been to a naked male booty in over a year and a half is a DVD ogling session with her friend Lida’s “posse.” Not that anyone could blame a widow with two young daughters. At this stage in her life, a relationship is not in the picture. A little hot sex? Definitely.

After another disaster date leaves more than a bad taste in her mouth, she has to admit it. The only man worth black stilettos and red lipstick is the one for whom she once threw caution to the wind, and never since—not even for her husband. Twelve years, and she can still taste the bittersweet memory of Shane Donner.

In a keystroke, a search engine connects the past with the present. As sparks fly from her fingertips to his, she begins to wonder if a screen full of seduction is enough to forge a future.

Arden Walsh has just about struck out in the romance (and even the sex) department. She’s a widow with two young daughters and realizes that Shane Donner from way back when might have been the perfect man for her.

Let me start by saying I really enjoyed this story. Ms. Hart did a wonderful job creating a tale that was almost like a chick lit novel but with lots of detailed sexy love scenes thrown in. The characters are all great, especially Arden and Shane, and the dialogue top notch. I was pulled into the story from the opening line…yes, it will get your attention.

It’s a realistic plot line that had me turning the pages because Arden’s search for true love sounds plausible. It also had some humor which once again reminded me of a chick lit story. I really wish this story could have been longer so I could have read more about these two characters interacting. That’s my only complaint.

I haven’t read any other books by this author before but this one has definitely piqued my interest and I’ll be checking out more.

If you’re looking for something to read on one of the first chilly nights of the fall, this one is definitely worth checking out.
