When Rex and Quinn hire a chef to come on tour with the band, Beau Trudeau finds a welcome distraction in quirky Gigi Somerville. She’s not his type at all, but she’s fun to have around, and she’s sort of growing on him…
If Gigi wants to start the business she’s worked so hard for, she needs something big to happen. When the members of Hank Lemon and the Law contact her to cook for them during their summer concert tour, she’s elated. Not only is this a dream opportunity, when she meets Beau Trudeau, she realizes she can kill two birds with one stone. He’s the perfect guy to foist her unwanted virginity upon before she has to go back to the real world and fifteen-hour workdays. He’s scorching hot but, even better, he has no interest in a relationship. In fact, he’s so perfectly wrong for her, there’s no chance of her actually falling for him…
Watching Rex and Quinn turn out to be the perfect couple made Beau realize that he wanted that with someone, too. He's a little left of center and if he can find a woman who gets him, even better. The idea of still playing the same games he did with Rex for the next several years wasn’t something that Beau was really looking forward to, but since it seemed to be the only option at the moment it would have to do until something better came along. Will a chance meeting with a quirkly redhead make him see that something great could be looking him right in the eye or will his past keep him from taking that next great step?
Gigi Somerville knows that this is the break that her company needs, working as a private cater with Quinn and her band is just the jump start she needs to get noticed by all the greats out there. She won't risk that her hard work is finally paying off on the attraction she feels for Beau Trudeau, or will she? This man is someone that she should be afraid of; he could derail her entire career if she lets him. Maybe letting her inner vixen out will be just the thing that she needs to get her focus back and make Beau see that they aren’t made for each other. Will one night be enough for the two of them, or when the daylight comes will they both realize that something great could be starting between them?
With Gigi’s past and Beau’s track record it is going to be an uphill battle, will they make the commitment or just walk away with the memories of great night in each other’s arms?
Having a chance to read an entire series in one sitting is something that I don’t get to do all that often, but these characters were ones that I wanted to get to know better and when that opportunity presented itself I couldn’t turn it down. I was hooked from the moment I started book one (Convincing Quinn) and had to know what happened in book two. I was completely invested in the characters and book two did not disappoint. It only made me love this author more.
Some series the stories seem to be disconnected or so connected you can't read just one, but Chloe Cole made this so that you could read it alone as a standalone book or as part of the series and still get the same great story.
I can't wait to see what's next from this author. I'm a fan.
