Nyree Grant, a rising singing sensation discovered on YouTube®, longs to meet a man who can match her in the passion department.

Jack Harris, a successful contractor, has become obsessed with the beautiful singer after seeing her internet video. He's thrilled when she's set to play some concerts in his city. His goal is to meet, and to have, the lovely chanteuse.

It is lust at first sight for the two and they soon find that they make beautiful music together.

Jack Harris couldn’t get the image of Nyree Grant out of his mind or his dreams. He couldn’t close his eyes at night without having erotic fantasies about her and he wanted to make those fantasies a reality. His chance came when he heard that she would be performing in his city and he decided that he would take the night off, buy a ticket, and finally meet his dream woman.

Nyree Grant had been discovered on YouTube and had finally realized her dream of becoming a singer. Happy that her life had finally taken off in the direction she wanted it to go, she was also sad that she had no one to share it with. She wanted more but realized that her singing may be her entire life, and love would have to take a back seat for now.

As Nyree prepared to walk out onto the club stage, she saw a man sitting at one of the tables. She couldn’t understand why her heart was beating so fast and when they made eye contact and he smiled, she was done for. Jack felt the same way when Nyree looked at him and he knew he had to have her. As she sang he felt like she was singing for him alone.

The main issue I had with this novella is how most of the book was taken up by the fantasies each of the characters was having about one another. When they finally did get together it was unlike anything they had fantasized. The story was good but it would have been nice if the characters were fleshed out a bit more. They knew very little about one another and she didn’t even know his name before she took off her clothes.

I found the story to be well written, the characters likeable, but you couldn’t really get into the story because before you knew it, it was over. That's fine if you're looking for a quick read that doesn't require you to become vested in the characters emotionally. It is a nice way to spend a half hour or so and simply enjoy it for what it is: a glance into two peoples fantasies and first meeting. If a few minutes is all you have, pick up a copy of Beautiful Music.

A topless dancer plus a cynical cop doesn’t equal a lifetime love...or does it?

There’s more to Jude Nelson than just a sequined thong. She has big dreams of becoming an artist. There’s one tiny wrinkle in her plan-she’ll never forget the bloody image of her friend’s battered body in the dumpster.

Who can a nude dancer turn to for help? Certainly not a hardened undercover cop...

Detective Drew Alwyn is on the case to find out who murdered his good friend and fellow officer. But the moment he sees Jude, he can’t look away. He has to decide which is more important-his dedication to his job or the girl who holds his bruised and battered heart.

Will these two opposites come together to solve the case or will their desire consume them?

It's business as usual at the Silver Steel Gentlemen’s Club, a fact the Carrington Falls police department wants to change. After finding the bodies of the last undercover officer and his lover in a trash compactor behind the club, the department is stepping up its program to get the goods on Salazar “Tiny” Balthazar and finally put him out of business. As the new bouncer at the club, Drew “Ramon” Alwyn is determined to stop Tiny, and there are several others in place as well. When Drew spots Jude “Judy Blue Eyes” Nelson, it's lust at first sight, but he can’t let his attraction to the beautiful and sexy stripper sidetrack his mission. However, things aren’t all they appear to be, and not all the cops here are the good guys. When Ramon discovers the secrets Jude hides, he falls even harder, but knows he can’t protect her and do his job as well. Can a stripper and a jaded undercover cop find common ground? Will Drew lose the woman he has come to love when he tells her the truth? Can these two manage to, finally, bring the bad guys down and still find a way to a happy ever after?

Wendi Zwaduk returns us to the dark, twisted noir setting from Over My Head, with many of the same characters and places we have visited before. There's the same dark, gritty and dangerous feeling to this one, and I enjoyed the return, after the nasty shock of the beginning. That is just one of many secrets, twists and mysteries present in this, and the danger and action kept me reading, needing to know what was next. Every time I thought I knew what was next, Ms. Zwaduk sent me in another direction completely. I really like that in a story, not being able to predict every move. The characters, both new and old, are expertly detailed, and very believable.

Jude Nelson is beautiful, sensuous and very good at what she does. One of the dancers at the Silver Steel, she is not what she appears to be: in fact she is an art student, just working to finish her degree. Despite her job, there's an innocence about Jude, a sweet and shy demeanor away from the club. She's determined to get out of the business just as soon as she finishes her classes. I like Jude, with her strength of character and her determination. She is loyal, and has an inner strength to see things through.

Officer Drew Alwyn, or Ramon, is a strong and determined character. He is set on bringing down the drug ring and the head of it, to make sure his friend did not die in vain. When he sees Jude, he is drawn to her, knowing only that she is a dancer at the club, but quickly seeing past the front she has built to keep men at a distance. I liked Drew’s sense of duty, and his inner fight to find a way to get the ‘bad guys’ but also to get the girl. I liked watching as he slowly let little pieces of the real man shine through to Jude.

Like the first book, there's a dark and dangerous thread running through this story. Once I started reading, I saw that everyone had a secret side, and some were very much darker that I originally thought. The secondary characters were as well defined as Jude and Drew, and some of the motivations behind their actions were what you would expect, but not from who I thought it would be. Jude and Drew have a hard road, but they do find their way to be together, and at least have a happy for now. There are more twists and secret, but you need to read this for yourself to learn the whole story.

Fuzzy is an unsatisfied ladies' man. Geoff's a bear-loving man who satisfies. Problem? Convincing a straight man that satisfaction might be just around the bend.

Overall Fuzzy has a good life. He loves his family, his friends are amusingly tolerable—mostly, and he enjoys his job. He never hurts for a date. Yep, the ladies seem to love the furry Fuzzy...so why does he feel like he's missing out on something? And why does a surprise dinner with a strange man hold more interest for him than the flirty, available waitress?

Geoff knows who he is and what he's after. He's searching for a big hairy man to wrap around him. He just hasn't found one that piques his interest...until he is manipulated into having dinner with Fuzzy—definitely not something to complain about. Fuzzy is tall and broad and proclaims to live up to his name. Everything that Geoff wants in a boyfriend. Except, Fuzzy happens to be straight.

When the opportunity arises for Fuzzy to crash at Geoff's apartment, Geoff works his derriere off to see what other things can arise. And prays that he can capture his Fuzzy Wuzzy all for himself.

To quote the A-Team’s Hannibal Smith “Don’t you just love it when a plan comes together?” I know Geoff and Fuzzy sure do! Wait, the hero’s name is Fuzzy? Like the bear? Yes, yes it is – but don’t you dare finish that rhyme! Fuzzy’s a sweetheart but he’s no push over.

Actually, Fuzzy isn’t even his real name but it is appropriate on a couple of different levels. His real name is…wait for it…nah, I’m not going to give it away. If you’ve read this author’s stories before you know she’s witty and clever. There are parts of this book that made me laugh for no other reason than because I can only imagine how much fun she had writing this last story. At first I couldn’t reconcile a hero named Fuzzy but as I got to know him better, it’s actually perfect, he is after-all, to Geoff’s great delight, a bear.

Speaking of Geoff, he’s a great match for Fuzzy because he appreciates the qualities in Fuzzy that other’s who “know” him often overlook, even Fuzzy’s boss Emery. In this terrifically crafted triangle, Geoff is Ritchie’s assistant and for all of 10 minutes, his date. You can see how Emery and Ritchie’s story plays out in Emery’s Ritches and that’s also where I first met both Geoff and Fuzzy. Geoff’s Teddy picks up where they first meet one another at a steakhouse near Geoff’s apartment. Ms. Fellows created a stream of circumstances where by which Fuzzy ends up at Geoff’s place for the night. I could tell from their initial conversation at the restaurant that they were going to fun to watch.

Geoff is gay. He doesn’t try to hide it from anyone, not even Fuzzy, who he isn’t sure is even bi-curious, much less gay. At the same time, he doesn’t try to force anything on Fuzzy, which would be kind of funny considering their size difference. Fuzzy tells him more than once that he could pound him into the ground if he wanted to. He calls Geoff  “lil man” and it comes off as such a sweet endearment I couldn’t help but smile when he says it.

While I enjoyed the beginning of the story a lot, it was how Geoff and Fuzzy went from having some lovely chemistry into a full blown relationship that's the real meat of this novella. As I said, Fuzzy isn’t a push-over, not to his parents (who are actually pretty fun) or his co-workers. His relationship with Geoff is very natural feeling in that there are obstacles along the way and a lack of communication never fails to cause issues. It’s the characters attitudes and resolve that make the difference and made this a truly enjoyable read.

Writers amaze me with their ability to create multiple story arcs that play out over a series of books and draw them together into a seamless creation. I’m always a little leery of picking up a new series if I know going in the author attempted synchronicity. If done well, you end up with a beautiful picture, full of life that flows from one POV to another telling a complete tale. There’s a sense of completeness when you close the last page. On the other hand, if done poorly, the effect may be more like Jackson Polluck’s surrealism art than Michelangelo’s pictorial Sistene Chapel.

So where does author Havan Fellows’ Synchronous Seductions series fall? After having read all three novellas, most certainly she has done well. The series name describes the flow of this triad of short stories to a tee. Beginning with Harlan’s Ryde, to Emery’s Riches and finishing with Geoff’s Teddy, I have honestly enjoyed her writing and look forward to seeing where she goes from here. If you’re looking for an up and coming new writer, Ms. Fellows is one to follow.

Alexandra "Lex" Lexington is on the run. She thought she could handle the stalker that dogged her every step. Realizing how wrong she was, she sought the protection of her brother, John. New problems arise, namely John's sexy security specialist, Adam Manchester. Buried desire for the infuriating man have risen to the surface and Lex institutes a plan of seduction that he'll never see coming.

But her stalker has found her again with deadly intentions.

Adam Manchester handles John's security for the Lexington Corp. He and John have been friends since childhood, and he knows the family well. Lex, she's special, and not just to her brothers, but to him. Just not in a brotherly fashion. Now John is asking him to look after her while he's away on business. Adam's problem—how does he watch the woman that he desires to possess without acting on those long denied feelings?

Adam Manchester is the right hand man of John ‘Lex’ Lexington who owns and operates Club Lexx. John has asked Adam to help run the club for two weeks while he goes away on business. Adam of course agrees until he walks in and finds John’s little sister Alexandra standing on top of the bar holding a staff meeting. It would appear that Adam has to work with Alexandra, while John is out of town, which does not go over well with Adam. Alexandra is thrilled that she's in charge and Adam will be working with her, especially since she had a thing for Adam when she was seventeen years old, and that thing has not gone away. Adam also remembers and decides to keep his distance because he does not want John to kill him for messing with his baby sister.

John also has another reason for having his sister there, she's being stalked by a past lover. Adam has to keep her safe and tamp down his attraction to Alex even though the chemistry between them was evident. He wanted her just as much as she wanted him and it was amusing when they did get together and forgot to take their earpieces out. Let's just say the staff got an earful! The supporting characters, especially the stalker and Alex's other brothers, Donovan and Zachary, added dimension to the story and helped you understand Alexandra much better.

The story was well written and it did keep my interest from beginning to end. I really liked Adam and Alex. Even though he didn't want to disappoint her brother, Adam couldn't deny his love for Alex and when he finally gave in he made sure that he fulfilled one of Alex’s fantasies which turned out to be really hot. This was an excellent read and I look forward to reading more books in the ‘Club Lexx’ series.

Single high school coach Jared Whitman is horrified when his little sister insists that he take ballroom dance lessons in preparation for her upcoming wedding.

Diandra Davis loves teaching ballroom but it can't fill all the lonely corners of her life.

When the two meet the attraction is instantaneous, the heat palpable, but a big misunderstanding threatens to keep them apart.

Jared Whitman has to take the place of his deceased father by walking his baby sister down the aisle and dancing with her at her wedding. The only problem is that Jared can’t dance and his sister Carrie has signed him up for dance lessons, which he absolutely does not want to take. However, he cannot deny his sister anything and agrees to take the lessons. He just knows there will be only senior citizens in his class and he'll become the object of some seniors’ desire. As he walks into the class, he hears latin music and all his fears have become a reality, all he sees are seniors dancing.

Diandra Davis is a dance instructor at The Loft dance studio waiting for her new student to come in, hoping that he doesn’t step on her feet all night. As she looked towards the door her heart stops, her skin gets all tingly and the most beautiful man she has ever seen walks in. She takes one look at him and he at her and all speech seems to leave. She has never wanted someone so badly and so quickly before; there's immediate chemistry.

The conflict of the story deals with some intentional as well as unintentional misuderstandings. While that's not an unusual trope in a storyline it's the misunderstandings between them and the way they work it out that made for an endearing story.

These two characters were sweet and even though the story was short they were very well developed. It was fun to see the immediate attraction between the characters and how his friend Stan explained some facts about women to him. The story kept my attention and I found myself smiling, and wishing that it was just a little bit longer.

Cheek to Cheek is one of those stories that will put you in a good mood, read it and see for yourself, I think you’ll be glad you did.

On the eve of his annual medical, Darcy Reed visits his favorite club to calm his nerves. He wasn't looking for love but finds more than he expected in the arms of his physician Dr Sheridan Scott.

Getting up close and personal is not what people expect when they go for their annual medical, but Darcy Reed has to try hard not to enjoy it too much. He has a thing for doctors and this year his medical is about to get interesting.

On the eve of his medical, he visits his favorite club in search of the mind-numbing release only alcohol can bring. Instead, he meets the enigmatic Sheridan Scott.

The chance encounter is only the beginning. Sheridan is a doctor and Darcy is about to get more than he bargained for when he goes for his physical. Darcy hasn't had much luck in love. Will Sheridan be just what the doctor ordered?

A doctor and a police officer walk into a bar, and when they leave their lives are changed forever. Well, maybe he's not a cop but a tech specialist for the police, but he's still close enough for me. Either way two sexy men in uniforms create some wickedly good pictures in my mind.

Darcy seems to be the hopeless romantic type that I hear about, but never actually meet. I like to think they're out there, but they're very illusive. His shaky past relationship left him with little hope of finding Mr. Right. While I liked Darcy’s chaste lifestyle, I wish I could have learned a bit more about his relationships. Part of me questions if his virtue was maintained just because of his hopeless romantic behavior or his past lover’s thoughtless attitude towards him. Either way it made a wonderful man just waiting for Dr. Scott to come and claim him as his own.

Dr. Sheridan Scott is everything Darcy needs and wants. I love how he seems to anticipate Darcy’s needs and is willing to meet them all the way. One thing I did question was in the beginning he seemed to be just enjoying life and looking for a quick hookup, but that quickly changes when he meets Darcy. I would have liked to have seen a bit more to understand why he felt the need to seek something more permanent from Darcy. However, I will say I would have done the same in his position.

The plot of this story is based around the relationship development of Darcy and Sheridan. I was completely caught up in the relationship from beginning to end which made this a very easy read. The story moves at a brisk and comfortable pace, the pages just seemed to fly by, I finshed and was surprised I had read over a hundred pages so quickly. This is a story I would recommend to anyone who loves a romance story with an erotic twist.

Brander took Gytha as his slave and loved her with passion. She, in turn, loved him. When he discovered she was to die, alongside his mother in a Viking burial, he cut her throat to spare her an agonising death. Imagine his astonishment when Gytha rose from her grave as a Valkyrie who craved sex. When Kyvelira gave an order, no mortal dared refuse for she bore the power of the gods. However, when that power was rescinded by Freya, Kyvelira was left vulnerable and weak. That was when she needed Brander the most.

Even a Valkyrie needs to learn a lesson or two about what makes a man fall in love with a woman. Not only that, but loving someone brings about a power that can’t be understood until the emotion is experienced for themselves. That’s the beauty of this little gem.

At first, I thought I’d met the heroine and in a way that’s true. But the author had a more magical mystical trick up her sleeve. Instead of a sweet lady, the true heroine is a brash, ungrateful and arrogant wench. No matter that she’s a Valkyrie, she had a horrible superiority complex and I found it hard to like her. Which was the point.

Kyvelira has a lot of experiencing and growing to do as a character. What the author chose as the venue for learning what humanity is all about was harsh, violent, cruel and, I suppose, true to the times. Makes me glad I’m a 21st Century gal.

The hero had already learned what true love was and I found it interesting that he learned his lesson well. That’s a good thing because Ms. Margret had him tested to the Nth degree. The old 1970s song, “The Things We Do for Love” certainly applies here. Except in the day and age that Brander lived, it’s not the ‘things’ so much as the pain we endure for love. The author created a very noble and strong man, not just in body but in mind as well. I’m referring to his moral compass. His mind and body isn’t so strong when it comes to sex. The poor hero didn’t stand a chance against Kyvelira. She had knowledge gained from where she came from that Brander had no experience in, so it was a ton of fun watching him being seduced by the very nature of the acts. After all, he was a very virile Viking.

Secondary characters are Brander’s family and the gods and goddesses of Valhalla. As with the Greek and Roman gods, Viking gods like to play with people like chess pieces too. I really liked that the author had even one of the goddesses learn a lesson too. No one is perfect, even a legendary god. It was a nice touch.

The villain was a nasty sort. The author created a very effective and convincing bad guy and he played his role well. As for his comeuppance, I wasn’t thrilled with the almost gentle way the author had him handled. I don’t think the fear was drilled into him enough nor was enough done to him. Sure there were demands made, but I felt that the punishment didn’t exactly fit the crime. Again, perhaps it was fitting because of the time in history, but I wasn’t impressed. I guess I’m a little bloodthirsty.

Loving the Valkyrie is a quick but entertaining read about love’s powerful yet humbling role in forging a strong relationship between two unlikely people. If a reader enjoys tales about Vikings and gods then this has a lot of elements to enjoy. If historical heroes of old are your thing, then Brander should appeal because he’s got a lot going for him. And if a nice happily ever after is a must have, this book has that too. It’s a great summer read and worth kicking back on the beach or deck and letting the words take you away to another time and place.

Hawk has been baffled by Onyx since he first met her. The woman defies all reason, teasing him to distraction only to rebuff him at every turn. A man can only take so much, and when Onyx defies his orders in the heat of battle, Hawk decides to show her what a fiery explosion a Molotov Cocktail can really ignite.

“It doesn’t matter who I am.” Onyx leaned casually against the bulkhead, never taking her eyes from Hawk. “What matters is that I’ve decided to make you my bitch. Do you think you can handle that?”

When a story begins like this you just know that anything that follows will have your undivided attention. Onxy has decided that she will do whatever it takes to make Hawk lose control. Hawk, being a no nonsense alpha male, just wanted to fly his ship through space, rescue his friend from the prison on Nova Station, then go back to base. Onxy made sure she was assigned to his ship as co-pilot so she could go on the mission with him. As he piloted the ship all she did was stare at him making suggestive comments, Hawk knew what she was doing and tried to ignore her but she proved to be more formidable then he expected.

This story was short but from the opening sentence to the end of the story, I was intrigued. Marteeka Karland made these two characters so likeable, especially Onxy, that I couldn’t help but smile everytime she made Hawk squirm. He would tell her to do something and she would do the exact opposite, telling him that she had to have his back. He would threaten her and she would smile and welcome it, and you could feel the frustration and sexual heat radiating from him. He was described as being ‘six foot nine and three hundred pounds but he had the urge to cover himself’ as Onxy sat staring at him smiling.

Her sole mission, other than helping Hawk rescue Storm from Nova Station, was to get him to let loose, because she wanted him and he was hers. The sex between these two, when Hawk decided he had reached the end of his rope, was hot and it was amusing to see Onxy question her decision when Hawk finally did lose control. I saw that she was poking the bear but she really was unprepared for the bear to poke back. All in all, this was a good short read and I’m sure that readers will be as entertained as I was.

When the man takes his leave, he tells her he will be waiting for her to come and find him. It isn’t until he is gone that Nia realises she hadn’t even got his name. When she does follow up, she not only finds him, she finds...the man who will change her life.

Darius Wilde is not about to let the fascinating woman get away. She tests his formidable control, and tantalises all his senses. His Garlven side is on high alert. And the man in him wants to lay her down and have her. She is skittish and will let him have her body, but he wants so much more. With a soft touch and melding himself into her life, he will have it all or nothing. He wants her to join him and embrace...Wilde Rapture.

First off let me say that although this book is short it did not short change me or leave me feeling that the author rushed me through the story. I did want it to be a little longer but that’s only because I was so engrossed in the story I became greedy for more. Nia and Darius set the pages of this book on fire and had me reaching for a cold bottle of water. The sex was smoking hot and the interaction of the characters made for a very entertaining read.

Nia Hudson, Carmen Thompson and Gabriella have dubbed themselves the ‘V’s or the ‘Voluptuously Sexies’. They are full figured women who have powerful jobs, Nia is a cop, Carmen is the Medical Examiner and Gabriella is the Assistant District Attorney. Carmen is the first of the V’s to get married but Nia being the cynic, or a realist as she calls herself, believes that relationships only lead to bitterness and heartache. It's at Carmen’s wedding that she encounters Darius Wilde who along with his brothers own the hotel Carmen’s reception is held at. His piercing blue eyes makes Nia want to ‘sink her tongue between his lips and taste him’.

Darius knew that Nia was his mate but he did not want to rush her, he wanted her to come to him on her own. You see, Darius and his family had a secret and he wanted Nia to be so enamored of him that his secret wouldn’t matter. The story along with its ups and downs had me eagerly awaiting Nia and Darius’ next encounter. Nia couldn’t control her hunger for him, and she couldn’t explain why, she just needed to be with him. Her reaction and the reason behind her reaction to his secret was unexpected.

This book had me from the opening paragraph and kept my interest until the last page. Like I said, I wanted just a few more pages, but this is a welcome continuation of the Wilde series, and I look forward to the next book in this series.

When Lia Constantine’s father dies suddenly, she’s shocked to discover he’s left casino debts totaling more than one million dollars. Unless she sells the family home, making herself homeless, she cannot repay the debt.

Under difficult circumstances, self-made billionaire Jake Benetti, owner of the Arabian Nights Casino, meets the incredibly beautiful Lia Constantine for the first time. As soon as he sees her, he knows she holds the key to unlocking his broken heart. He cannot allow this highly alluring woman to slip through his fingers. Caught between the past and the future, he makes her an offer she simply can’t refuse—until Lia repays her father’s gambling debts, he owns her, mind, body, and soul.

Lia is into the BDSM lifestyle as much as Jake is, but with their D/s relationship beginning to blossom, will the money drive a wedge between them? Can they ever find happiness together?

Jan Bowles is a new author for me, but I knew as soon as I read the first few pages I was going to enjoy the modern ring of the story, the vivid characters and the picture painted for them to exist in.

Lia Constantine’s day just doesn’t start out like usual; not only is she bundled against her will into a limousine and driven to one of The Strip's most fantastic casinos, she also comes face to face with the most infuriatingly gorgeous man she has ever met. Why infuriating? Because he has a hold on her, a monetary hold, and Lia’s life is turned upside down as she has to face the debts her father left and battle against the overwhelming attraction she feels for Jake Bennetti. But it seems the attraction is mutual and true to his gambling personality, Jake is prepared to put everything on the line to win Lia, especially when he realizes she enjoys the same D/s fun in the bedroom as him.

I liked Lia from the beginning, she’s the sort of girl you could imagine being friends with. She’s got a history that includes grief and heartbreak but she is feisty and strong and re-building her life. She also isn’t the sort to take any nonsense and this made seeing her submissive to the delectable Jake all the more fun as a reader.

Jake was a perfect match for her, and I liked how the author used the two lead characters grief as a catalyst to bring them together, it could have been cheesy but it wasn’t, it tugged my heart-strings and gave grounding to their emotions and actions.

So on to the sex, yep the sex was there in bucket loads and it was hot, hot, hot with a good sprinkle of BDSM thrown into the mix. I didn’t feel short-changed at all as the characters went from one sweaty scene to the next, it was well placed and each time they were climaxing together, it added new layers to their relationship. One of my favorite parts of the book is when Jake takes Lia for dinner and spots the BDSM jewelry she is wearing, I didn’t see that coming but it made so much sense to the characters. I would just add one word of warning here though, if you are squeamish about clitoral piercings being tugged and tugged then you might want to skip a couple of lines in the middle of one scene, but if that’s your thing, well, you’re onto a winner.

Claimed for the Master’s Pleasure was everything I hoped it would be; well-rounded characters, steamy sex within a D/s relationship and a romantic plotline. If you want a book with a masterful hero and a feisty heroine who is willing to hand over everything to her man, then this might just be the book for you.

Leiah is fighting to save her pack, as alpha it's her duty to make sure her pack survives the Yeti attack. The males of her pack are weak and look to her to lead them; some of them stay and help her fight but many others run and hide. Rikker, a lone wolf, happens upon the fighting and being the alpha male that he is, jumps right in and protects her. He has no patience for the males he deems as ‘weaklings’ and only fights because he realizes that Leiah is his mate.

Rikker tells Leiah that she is his mate and even though she has a stronge attraction to him she feels that she cannot leave the pack. They depend on her because she was the one who got them out of the ‘ghettos’ of Syrila where they would have been worked until they were of no more use to the rulers. Rikker does not feel any connection to these weaklings and wants to take her away with him. Of course the other wolves are upset and they will do anything to get rid of Rikker so that they can keep Leiah with them.

Since this was a short story I got to know a little about the characters of Leiah and Rikker but there was still something missing. I really couldn’t get invested in the characters because there simply was time to fit a huge background story with everything else that was going on. I did like that Leiah was an alpha female and didn't back down from a fight, and of course you had the alpha male who complimented her nicely.

The story was a enjoyable read and the sex between the characters was raw and hot. While it would have been nice to have a little background story about how Leiah came to rescue the wolves and why Rikker was a lone wolf this quick glimpse into their meeting was exciting. Overall as I said, the story was a good read, and Marteeka Karland is a good story teller.

Dennis Grant works for a prestigious insurance agency, headed by the enigmatic and utterly hot Roland Forbes. When Dennis shows up late for work, his nipples sore from a night of solitary but delicious abuse, the last thing he needs is to run into Forbes.

Getting caught being late has got it’s perks.

Talk about a hot story! Goodness. This short steamed up my screen. I love a book with little kink and this one is packed. It’s all good.

Dennis has been late to work. Why? He’s got a secret. He likes to indulge in BDSM and kink afterhours. So much so, he’s been tardy to work a time or two. I liked Dennis. He knows what he wants and has the attitude that it’s his business and no one else’s. Roland was a little harder for me to like. Why? Not because he’s got his own secrets. His secrets made him more interesting. But at the first meeting, I wasn’t sure if he was just stuffy or intentionally rigid. Yes, it took me some time to warm up to him, but I did and I’m glad.

Like many of Mychael Black’s stories, this one isn’t for the faint of heart. There are a couple scenes with a set of nipple clamps that might not be everyone’s cup of tea. But the author writes the scenes with a fluidity that just drew me right in. The short has heat and an open-ended feel, begging to have a sequel.

If you want a hot book in a compact fashion, then this might be the book you’re looking for.

Ritchie won't admit that he's heartbroken. Emery won't accept less than all of Ritchie's affection. How will meticulous Emery win snarky Ritchie for his own?

Ritchie Lymings is wallowing in self-pity after seeing the man he loves—his best friend—reunited with his arch enemy. He's drowning his sorrows in coffee and caramel when an irritating stranger barges into his life, determined to make him smile. Even if this interloper is too dense to understand his faux pas, Ritchie figures he may be good for a quickie to get his mind off of his immediate situation. A simple round of love 'em and leave 'em sounds promising.

Emery Hutchins recognizes Ritchie immediately when he stops for his morning coffee and breakfast. His friend Ryder had been telling him stories about "the infuriating twit" for years. Fate and coincidence were two things that normally gave Emery cause for pause, but he couldn't let this opportunity pass him by. Unable to relinquish control to fate though, he immediately devises a plan to make the deliciously snarky Ritchie his own, one hundred percent completely.

But for these two diverse personalities there is one major problem. How can Ritchie's attitude and Emery's meticulousness blend together, or is this an oil and water mess?

Ritchie would be the first to tell you he’s no man’s second choice!

Sometimes it stinks to be a “friend” when who you really want to be is so much more than friends. As the saying goes “If you love something (or in Ritchie’s case, someone) set it free. If it comes back to you, it's yours. If it doesn't, it never was.” The “someone” who has been in Ritchie’s life and occupied his most vivid fantasies is his best friend, Harlan. Harlan loves Ritchie, but not “like that”. That love is reserved for Ritchie’s self-proclaimed nemesis, Ryder Halloway. But that’s another story – this novella brings the snarky, brooding Ritchie face-to-face with the man who doesn’t simply replace Har as the man of his dreams. Emery literally doesn’t give Ritchie a chance to tell him “No”.

Do you enjoy a good cat and mouse chase? If so, you are going to love the sheer effort and audacity of Emery when he sets his sites on Ritchie. Emery is charismatic and persistent but Ritchie doesn’t make it easy on him. That wouldn’t be much fun and it certainly wouldn’t fit Ritchie’s personality.

Speaking of Ritchie’s personality, bless his heart, he gives new meaning to putting ones foot in his mouth. He gets so wound up at a backyard BBQ, I just wanted to stuff a burger in his mouth so he’d stop talking.

For me, that’s just one element of a well written story. Does it make me want to engage with the characters? For Emery’s Ritches and just about everything else I’ve read by Ms. Fellows, the answer is a resounding “Yes!”.

There is so much “muchness” packed into this short story I couldn’t put it down before I finished it. Then, I was craving more because there is the little matter of Ritchie’s personal assistant, Geoff and a perfectly sweet bear who caught his attention. That’s going to be a fun story!

If you’re looking for a new author and haven’t had the pleasure of sampling Ms. Fellows work with The Story Orgy, you NEED to read Emery’s Ritches. You’ll have to get a copy of the Word Play anthology from The Story Orgy to read the first book in the Synchronous Seduction series. Ms. Fellows is very clever in her writing and never fails to create characters that stick with me long after I turn the last page. I look forward to see what she WIPs up next!
