The most dangerous lies are the ones you tell yourself.

Dylan Williams is not gay. Sometimes he gets off with other guys, but so what? He plans to get married someday—really married, like with a wife and kids. And he’s determined that his future family’s life will be the normal one he and his brothers never had.

Mike Aurietta is gay, but his job keeps him in the closet. He doesn’t usually risk frequenting infamous cruising places like Webber Park. But when he’s cutting through one night, he finds himself defending a victim from gay bashers.

It’s all Dylan can do to process the shock that anyone would want to hurt his quiet twin brother. At first he needs Mike’s eyewitness report to satisfy the gut-wrenching desire for revenge. Then he finds himself needing Mike’s solid, comforting presence…and the heat that unexpectedly flares between them.

In the aftermath, Mike quickly learns not to expect too much from his conflicted lover. Though he never thought his good deed would come back to bite him in the ass. Or that hanging on to the possibility of love could force too many secrets out of the closet—and cost them both everything.

Angst, sex, and great storytelling. Yep, it's a KA Mitchell book.

Twins, angst, and lots of hot guys. Le sigh. The moment I read the blurb for this book, I knew I had to review it. Why? First, KA Mitchell writes stories that draw me in like a moth to a flame. I get emotionally connected to the characters and think about them long after the end of the story. The writing is flawless and I don't want to put them down. This book was no exception.

The 'I'm not really gay' trope has been used many times. It has. But it's life. Lots of people can relate to the theme of the story. Either coming out isn't possible or they are still confused. Mitchell writes this trope in a fresh way that feels good. Mike doesn't deny he's gay, he just won't advertise it because it could cost him his job. Understandable, really, because in this day and age, a job is everything.

There are other aspects of this story that are fresh as well. There's the situation between Mike and Darryl. Darryl's been attacked by gay bashers and needs help. Enter Dylan, Darryl's twin brother. He's enough to make Mike change his mind about what's important. Yes, there is a lot of sex in this book, but I wouldn't have it any other way. The sex isn't just hinky sex, it's charged with emotion and passion.

If you want a book that's head and shoulders above the rest, then this might be the book for you.

Ian Bowers is a pirate captain rotting in a filthy prison when a mysterious young man shows up to break him out. Silas Christian is the son of Ian's former captain and Ian finds himself leading an expedition to find his late captain's treasure trove. Along the way, Ian and Silas embark on a tryst that turns into something more as time passes. When Ian tries to settle down, however, he grows restless. Can Silas compete with the lure of the sea?

Ahoy mates! It's time to hit the high seas.

I have yet to find a Mychael Black book that's let me down. Black's writing style is quick and kept me interested. I wanted to know what would happen to Ian and Silas. You might take a look at the number of pages in this story and think this book is short so the development isn't strong. I disagree. Yes, the book is short and yes, I wanted to know more about Silas and Ian's backgrounds beyond what is given, but it's nicely compacted and good for an afternoon read.

Did I mention the heat? Oh yes, there is heat. Goodness. Ian and Silas are so right for each other and reading about them coming together was fever-inducing. I felt the love they had for each other, even before they realized love was possible. Yes, this story is heavy on the sex, but I expect nothing less from a Mychael Black book.

Historicals aren't usually my thing. I don't know the lingo or what clothing was in fashion when. Sometimes that can be a detractor. But in the case of this book, I don't think so. Black's writing is tight enough and kept my attention well enough that I didn't think about the genre. I was absorbed in the characters and wanted to stay in their world longer.

If you want a pirate book with plenty of sex, then this might be the book for you.

Her Fantasies Were Wild But Buried Deep...

Haley Tillman words hard at being a good girl, hiding her rich fantasy life in the pages of her diary. But being good doesnt' seem to get her anywhere with men, and her confidence is on a downward spiral. She's ready to try something altogether different, but hasn't a clue where to start. In a moment of desperation, she prays for a miracle...

He Might Take Her Beyond Them...

Ryder is the perfect combination of powerful angel plus normal hot–blooded man. Crossing into the mortal world could cost him his existence. But mortals are like a potent drug to Ryder, and Hayley is quickly becoming his drug of choice...

This angel is willing to fall if it means helping her open up to the possibilities of life.

I was excited to get the next book in the Good Girl Series. I enjoyed Where There's Smoke and wanted to see where Ms. Kelley would take the series next. The characters are interesting and the plot is a fresh twist on angels. Ms. Kelley's writing flows well and drew me in from page one. This was a one-sitting read for me, which is a good thing. I couldn't put the book down. I had to know what would happen next.

Hailey writes her fantasies because she's scared to share them out loud. She's been repressed by her upbringing. I could relate to her because I didn't have the most vocal parents when it came to sex and what was acceptable. I could understand where she felt shy and hemmed in. The one thing I had issue with is, while having a rough upbringing and feels she's not pretty, she doesn't really have any other characteristics that made her less than perfect. I got that she was inexperienced, but she seemed almost too good to be true. I wanted to connect with her more, but I couldn't. Other readers might not have an issue with that, I did.

Ryder is everything I wanted in an angel. Talk about hot! Good grief, just the descriptions of him required a glass of ice water. Whew! He's a bit too good to be true as well, but I expected that because he's an angel. He's sex on legs and it's great to see him get Hailey to open up.

If you want a hot read with an angel, then this might be the book for you.

What happens when your dreams come true? Crypt Ross is about to find out after one spectacular weekend with Mack MacKenna. But will it be all that he hopes for?

Still in the closet, custom motorcycle mechanic Mack MacKenna takes his pleasure in long weekends away from home as a silent partner in a members-only style club. These weekends provide Mack with nameless, relationship-less debauchery. Although he's out to his best friend, he still worries about his family's reaction.

Crypt Ross is an out and proud up-and-coming young artist who has had a crush on Mack MacKenna since his senior year when Mack talked to his shop class. Since then Crypt has poured out all of his angst and unrequited love into his art, scoring himself a full-ride scholarship to art school.

What happens when Mack and Crypt come together? Will it be happily ever after or love lost?

Grease Paint by West Thornhill is the perfect novel for any reader, be it someone who has just acquired a taste for male-male romance (like me) or a long-time fan. The story between Crypt and Mack is sweet, intense and romantic from beginning to end. In barely 82 pages, Ms. Thornhill builds a romance that feels genuine.

Though we are told that Crypt is young and angsty, he is brave enough to take the first steps into building a relationship with Mack. He’s nervous around the hot shop owner but he’s also confident enough to put his heart on the line and that makes him a true hero.

On the other hand, Mack is very good looking and loves to take little getaways to escape from his family (by the way, I loved the original club where he parties), but I didn’t find a connection with him like I did with Crypt.

The sex was hot, but also sensual and romantic. The kisses between Mack and Crypt were especially thrilling, the author painting a good picture of the sensations and tastes coursing through both men.

Hannah and Tuck, the guy’s best friends deserve a special mention as their love and support was important for the happy ending. They were both really sweet and I enjoyed the level of intimacy they shared with their respective friends.

Grease Paint is a fun, quick, sexy read, thoroughly enjoyable for both the mm newbies and the experts at any time.

Shane and Noah set out to seduce Kitty Velvet into selling them her family’s struggling steel company at a deep discount. They plan a weekend of deception and sexual adventure to convince her to give up the business she spent her life keeping afloat. As they begin their passionate getaway, things don’t go as planned. Instead of putting their rival out of business, they gain deeper feelings for the feisty blonde – and for each other. With their world upside down, Shane and Noah must now decide if business ambitions are worth losing a chance at something bigger than money, and more precious than owning a steel empire.

Kitty has worked hard to keep Velvet Steel afloat, but changing technologies and the growth of their rivals have made the company’s continued viability almost impossible. As she embarks on a erotic weekend to de-stress and regroup, she develops feelings for two strangers who turn out to be the very men who have made her life a living hell for the past year. But is saving her family business worth losing her only chance at love?

Kitty Velvet needs a night off and she knows just where to go. As she is enjoying herself at her favorite club she meets two gorgeous young men. Their party is interrupted and Kitty invites the men to go with her and see where the night takes them. Will Kitty find love or will the mens secret ruin it all? Lies always have a way of coming out; will Shane and Noah’s be worth it?

This story was a hard one for me to get into. We learn quickly on in the book that the men are trying to seduce Kitty and get her to try and sell the family business, which made it hard for me to like them. I found it hard to immerse myself in the romance between the men and Kitty because I continued to think about the men lying to and tricking Kitty. She's a strong woman who is trying to let off some steam after continuously working to save the company day after day.

The sex is a hot read and it flows well between the three but the sexual conflict between the two men became a distraction for me. In a way it seemed that they just used Kitty to make their relationship all right. Even with this the three are good together and it was nice to see them develop their relationship. There was a lot of attention paid to the lovemaking and not too much on the actual storyline. I kept waiting for Kitty to find out about the lies but every time a scene would end another one would begin. Somebody always seemed to be having sex or the men were dealing with their own relationship. Even Kitty notices this and gives the men an ultimatum about their relationship.

Watching Noah and Shane figure out their relationship was a nice read. The men love each other and begin to have feelings for Kitty but they must find out where their relationship stands before they decide on the relationship that includes all three of them. It was nice to see each man develop a bond with Kitty as well and had me hoping that the three would find a solution to all their problems. Although this book may not a favorite for me, I am a fan of this author and plan to continue reading her work because I know I'll find another book that will be a favorite. If a hot menage with some lovely M/M action and a bit of deception is what you're in the mood for, look no further than Velvet Steel.

In the classical myth, Zeus, the king of gods, kidnaps the beautiful youth, Ganymede, to live with him on Mount Olympus.

In this modern retelling, Zeus is from the stars and lusts after rock star Ganymede. In any setting, their love is legendary.

Once a rock star, always a rock star?  Not if Zeus has his way.

I love a Jack Greene story. Why? They're short, quick, and so sexy. In just a few words, Greene conveys a slew of emotions and has me right in my seat needing to know more. I liked the character and the way they ended up in the same room.

Zeus and the other gods are not just gods, they are there to observe the humans. Keep them safe but don't get involved. It's a novel idea. The gods aren't the gods in the usual trope in this short and it's a good thing. I like the change. Ganymede, the rock star, was easy to relate to. He feels like he's living in a fishbowl. He wants to be himself and love who he wants. But there's a few issues. He carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. When he and Zeus come together...whew! Hot.

My favorite character was Eros. Now there's a guy I want to see a story for. Heck, I wanted to see him jump in the fracas with Zeus and Ganymede. Talk about hot. That would've been so good. I liked the ending, just throwing in my two cents.

If you want a hot read that's quick and simple, then this might be just the book for you.

When an alpha Delta Force leader and a prosecuting attorney meet at a bondage club, which one will be the top and which one the bottom?

Slade Donovan has been a Delta Force team leader for years and the missions are beginning to wear on him. He’s been a Dom for longer than that, but now he’s tired of the string of faceless women and wants to find the right sub and form a permanent relationship. Someone who understands his life and can deal with it.

Kari Malone excels in her role as a prosecuting attorney but the iron control she needs to do it gets tiring. And her search for the right man is fraught with disappointments. When a friend introduces her to the D/s scene, she finally finds an arena where she is able to both shed her mantle of control and indulge in her sexual fantasies. She meets Slade, also a guest, and their brief connection is instant and intense.

Five years pass before they meet again. By now, as Butterfly Kari has created an alternative life for herself at The Edge, a very private bondage club. Her search for the right man falters when she realises none of them can compete with the memory of the man she met in Chicago. When Slade turns up at The Edge it’s apparent from "Hello" that the heat between them has been simmering all this time and is about to explode. But can each of them provide what the other needs to make this work?

Want to see two strong, dominant characters collide in the bedroom? If so, this might just be a book for you.

Slade Donavan is the leader of a Delta Force team. But he’s so much more than just an alpha male on the battlefield, he also likes to dominate in the bedroom, a role he prides himself in. But what happens when he wants more than just a woman to play with, what happens when he needs someone to share his life with? Kari, an assistant district attorney, works hard and plays hard too. But since a meeting with a Dom, when she was a young, naïve sub, five years ago, she’s been searching for that very Dom but without success.

The author introduces us to Slade first in this book; he’s in Afghanistan doing his thing with his team. I got the feeling I was being introduced to them as I got a description of each and they planned their ‘downtime’ trip to Slade’s ranch . This included hopes of taking a visit to The Edge, Slade’s local BDSM club. This was all a nice way to build reader anticipation – you just know its going to get good and raunchy when a group of hot guys are intending ‘that’ sort of evening.

Coincidences sometimes don’t work well in novels, but this one, I am happy to say hit all the right buttons. The Dom Kari has been dreaming of is Slade, and they bump into each other at The Edge. Slade is thrilled that when he introduced Kari to BDSM she obviously enjoyed it enough to learn more, play more. Kari is overjoyed that the man no one else can live up to has her naked, manacled and crying for more strikes within minutes. This is one hot scene – grab yourself an electric fan.

But the book goes deeper than that because both Slade and Kari are looking for more than just fun in the bedroom. They sense a connection and a similar sense of life goals. Ms Holt portrays their romance beautifully with dates, sweet kisses and getting to know one another. All a stark contrast to the wild sessions of kink at The Edge. There is also a good dose of war-zone action if you like the grittiness of fighting soldiers.

Unconditional Surrender is well written, has compelling characters and is very sexy. It’s a good length to lose yourself in and I for one would be happy to see what stories the other members of this Delta Force team have to tell.
