SPANK ME AGAIN, STRANGER offers ten sublimely perverse tales of power and pain, desire and surrender. A long-married couple recaptures the twisted passion of their youth. A neglected slave turns the tables on her inattentive master. A Domme volunteers her devoted pet for demonstrations at a kinky toy store. From a light-hearted public spanking on a woman's thirtieth birthday to the intensity of blood sports, Lisabet Sarai once again shares her lush visions of dominance and submission.

What do you get when you have a collection of short stories by Lisabet Sarai? A read that will curl your toes and get you ready for a spank-a-rific time, that’s what.

Spanking stories are fun. There is no doubt about it. What makes this collection rise above the rest is they are all different and push the limits every time. From a live-in slave trying to entice her Master to notice her, a magician’s assistant that finds her peace in sub space, a birthday girl that is in for a wild night in the local watering hole and a wife that finds some adventure on the beach with two very sexy guys you have a group of tales that really embraces the power exchange of BDSM. The best part is, I haven’t even scratched the surface. There are ten stories here that will challenge your conceptions of what BDSM can be and some pretty creative ways to go about it. For a fifty-nine page book, author Lisabet Sarai has crafted a masterpiece of sexual tension that often left me speechless with a sigh of pleasure as I greedily turned to the next story.

What is a spanking story? Well, it kind of speaks for itself, right? For the most part, you have a spanker and the happy recipient of said spanking. This grouping of ten stories has such a variety it felt like a journey to the darkest borders of the imagination. In Wednesday Night at Rocky’s Ace Hardware an excursion to find some home repair supplies takes an interesting turn. In Higher Power you meet a young woman down on her luck who interviews for a magician’s assistant position. She gets much more than she bargained for and with each step closer to the flame, you as the reader are bound just as surely as she is.

Shades of Red was brilliant. Amsterdam has one of the most free attitudes about sex of anywhere in the world. When a young woman decides to rent out one of the window rooms to experience sex with a stranger, every arousing bit of the book is right there on display. Every crack of the whip and agonizing lustful moment is brought through the page in vivid detail.

The last story Limits: A Love Story touches on edge play that you don’t often see in BDSM novels. Knife and blood play are perilous topics, but Sarai does a superb job of transmitting the orgasmic bliss of the sub as her Master carves his intent into her flesh. Blood and blade are as erotic as anything I have ever read and it has stuck with me, even as I write this.

One of the things that has come to my attention lately in reading erotica is how an author handles female arousal and what is going on down there. Again, Sarai mixes it up and it was not repetitive. Not a single one of the ten stories left me with anything other than being in the story and loving every minute of it. The action was perfect, sex scenes scintillating and the originality of the stories was glue you to the page wonderful.

If you love BDSM stories that reach into your darkest places and keep you on the edge of your seat, then you simply must give Spank Me Again Stranger a try.

George thought he’d seen it all in thirty years of tending bar. Then Red started coming into his place every Friday evening. She was certainly a creature of curious habit, but he didn’t give her much thought until she came in after-hours one night, naked under her winter coat and hoping to catch him alone.

Sarah had been playing a dangerous game, and she knew it. But she couldn’t make herself walk away without taking a chance on the sexy bartender who’d been pouring the beer and sparing the judgment the past few months.

A woman who has been frequenting his bar and picking up “dates” for one-night stands is back for him. Could this bartender resist a fling with a woman who doesn’t go for second dates, but shows up for him wearing only boots and a winter coat?

George had worked his way up from working in the bar to buying out his boss. In his thirty years of tending the bar, “Red” is the one woman who fascinates him. She started coming into his bar every Friday evening recently and has been a mysterious figure to him. No one seemed to know much about her and she didn’t stay long enough to shed more light to her story.

Sarah, (also known by George’s nickname for her, “Red”), has chosen George’s bar for specific reasons only known to her. She has a need to go through men as she has been doing until she satisfies something in her own mind. She thought it would be safe to carry on her deeds through George’s bar for a while.

Unbeknownst to both Sarah and George, when they do get together, someone else has an issue with what she has been doing. When Sarah doesn’t show up again, George is concerned and wondering about her. Is he a victim of her “no repeat” policy or is there something else more sinister going on? The characterization of the heroine was clever, lending to a quick explanation for the ways things were. Although not everyone would agree with the heroine’s actions, who is to say what one would do in similar circumstances? I enjoyed this escapade for what it was, an erotic chapter in the heroine’s life.

Using all words within the story for maximum effect, Ms. Kingston delivers a sizzling erotic short story with an intriguing plot. I enjoyed reading this quick, hot tale and will definitely check out more from Ms. Kingston and Ellora Cave Moderne Quickies!

Quent Jackson has followed Jason Spade's every move in business and in poker since their first day as college freshmen. Eight years later, when Jace finally decides Quent is the one man he can't live without, he sees no reason for that to change.

But as much as Jace believes that poker is life, no one gave Quent the same playbook. After their first passionate night, the real game of love and trust begins, and Jace has been playing alone too long to make teaching the rules easy. Jace only speaks two languages: one of them is sex, and the other one is poker. Between the two, he needs to find a way to convince himself to take a chance on love—and Quent to take a chance on him. It's a lucky thing they’re good at reading the odds, because they’re playing for keeps, and this is one high-stakes relationship that's definitely worth the gamble.

Poker is life but who will win the game? Jace learned how to play poker from a young age. He also learned that the game answers all of life’s questions and offers all the tools to control your life. What he never counted on was his best friend upping the ante. The two friends are happy to get sexual with each other but now must figure out how to get their happy ever after ending. If they’re lucky, they both will win.

Gambling Men is a slick, entertaining title from Amy Lane. Fans of the author should recognize the writing easily and hopefully like these two gruff, but loveable men. Jace stars as the alpha male who controls and orders his life and work so easily (including the life and work of his best friend Quinton). Yet Jace’s fear of losing anyone he loves has his alternatively terrified and needy. His back and forth antics are endearing as he emotionally clings to Quinton yet still growls like a wounded bear at him. Quinton, thankfully, is easy going and understanding so it’s more a matter of time until Jace feels comfortable than any big problem.

Littered throughout the story are numerous poker metaphors. These run kind of long and I got tired of them early on but I can see the parallel the story is trying to make. What helps make up for this small issue is the many really hot sex scenes. These two men are dynamite together from the first scene and the tension helps carry off each scene.

Overall this is another successful story by Lane that fans are likely to appreciate. The men are well crafted and the writing is top notch. The concise prose combined with plentiful erotica left me pretty satisified.

Cate was once a mischievous milkmaid. Now the victim of a witch's spell, she's simply Cat—feline by daylight, female by night. For one who knows how to make the best of a bad situation, it's not just a curse, it's an opportunity. Naughty adventure beckons.

Until she meets a man who makes her yearn for a permanent woman's body again.

Peter assumes it's coincidence that his vivid, erotic dreams began soon after he adopted an affectionate stray cat. Besides, as much as he enjoys their nightly escapades, he wants more than a sexy apparition who only comes in darkness. When Peter thinks he's in love with another, Cat must help her beloved master win his heart's desire. Although she'll lose him forever, that selfless deed will undo the witch's curse.

Will Cat's heart pay the price for Happily Ever After? Or will Peter find that dreams can come true?

How can you not love a heroine like Cat?

Cat used to be Cate, until she insulted a witch and was turned into a four-legged animal with an attitude problem. Cat was somewhat selfish, self-centered, and sassy as can be. She was the perfect - or actually, very imperfect - heroine. I love the way she would get distracted and get herself into trouble.

While Cat is, well, a cat, she does turn into a human late at night. At first, her life is simple as she sleeps all day and indulges in all her sexual fantasies at night at the hands of Peter, her "owner" (those of you who have even owned cats know that they actually own you, right?), who conveniently thinks he's dreaming. But when Peter starts to lust for another instead of his phantom dream woman, Cat gets a little (okay, a lot) jealous and starts getting into trouble.

And I will leave it at that as I don't want to spoil anymore of the story, but believe me, it's so worth reading.

The rest of the cast was interesting. The way Ms. Fox described the setting, I could actually visualize it in my head, and at times I felt like I was right there inside the book.

I read this story in one sitting. I tried to take breaks but couldn't. This book refused to be put down. And once I was done, I was a bit sad to say goodbye to Cat. The story ended beautifully. Cat got her happily ever after and all questions were answered, all issues resolved, and I knew there will not be a Cat book two. I kinda wish Ms. Fox would have left some loose ends so that readers could demand (sorry, I meant to say "politely ask for") a sequel.

If you're a fan of truly hot erotic romance, a great set of characters, an amazing setting, and an entertaining plot, than you CAN'T go wrong with this story. You will not be disappointed and if you pick up this story, I bet you will fall in love with it as much as I did. Now go on, buy it!

Heavyweight UFC fighter, Romeo Wellings comes from the hard streets of New York where his family ties to the mafia cause him nothing but pain. His life takes a surprising detour when he crosses paths with the twin sister of his long-time enemy. After a steamy, one-night stand, he faces the fight of his life, but it’s not in the cage. The secret relationship that blooms between Romeo and his real life Juliet has him battling his family and a dark past rather than let her go.

The only lawyer in her hometown of Garnet, Jules Conner is also a volunteer Sheriff’s deputy and co-owner of a successful MMA training center. Strong and dependable, Jules is always there for those who need her. Until one forbidden night in Las Vegas with Romeo leaves her feeling so alive she can’t stop reaching out to the sexy bad boy of the UFC, even knowing the forbidden love affair could jeopardize everything.

As the tide rises against them and the people they love work at keeping them apart, Romeo and Jules hold onto a dream for a better life together and vow to go down fighting rather than accept a tragic ending.

He got caught by the long arm of the law once before, but this time the attractive blond attached to it is much too tempting to resist.

Romeo Wellings is all too familiar with what it means to be a fighter. From fighting to keep food on the table for his younger brothers to fighting to keep custody of them, Romeo has endured much, which has prepared him for fighting at a professional level. However, no matter how much money he makes or the titles he attains, his small family is still under the threat of the mob. Ties cast in blood leave Romeo with little choice but to deal, that is until a tall blond with a tight bod and a southern accent decides she wants to buy him dinner. Romeo is ready for the break she offers from his drama filled life, but when it's time to part ways, Romeo struggles and begins a different kind of fight – this time for love.

Life in a small town couldn't get any busier for Juliet Connor. As if working as a lawyer and deputy to the Sheriff weren't enough, Jules also teaches self-defense courses for women. However, life is pretty lonely in the Connor household with only her brother to keep her company. Jules easily intimidates men with her success and stature, so when Romeo shows her his desire for the independent woman that she is, Jules is not only turned-on but surprised. Unfortunately, their attraction must remain a secret even as emotions get deeper with each Skype encounter. Aside from the complications and drama with both their families, Romeo still has secrets he’s keeping from Jules and Jules can’t fully trust him outside of their undeniable chemistry. Now with their hearts on the line, sacrifices must be made that will either bring them and their families together or tear them all apart with deadly consequences.

A fantastic second installment to the Battered Hearts series! This time things are more suspenseful, more dramatic, and much sexier. Romeo and Jules take things to a new erotic level with their voyeuristic Skype chats and a sexually charged encounter on the mats at the dojo. The romance is a dominating element in the story and really changes and reshapes Romeo and Jules in the most brilliant way as events unfold and reveal the challenges on both sides. There is a lot of love, but there is also a lot of conflict, so the story is very balanced.

Descriptively the characters and the setting are done quite well with the dialogue only enhancing the charm of the entire story. The pacing of it all compliments the story and keeps the reader engaged, so it is easy to become invested in the characters and this small southern town. And yet Romeo’s brothers added a new depth and twist to the overall storyline that really has me anticipating future books in the series. If nothing else, the story’s only fault is that it didn’t keep going. This one is an official re-read for me and I will blindly pick up the next in the series.

Returning from the war, his body wounded, his soul hurting, Jared faces a very different life. A sexual Dominant, doubts about his ability now to satisfy any submissive plague him.

Until Ninia. The face of an angel and the body of a centerfold, she's about as unsubmissive as any woman he's known. A nurse in the Cheyenne VA hospital where Jared is sent, Ninia is tough, in control. Until Jared catches her in an unguarded moment and see a vulnerable, softer side. It fires his blood with a need to find out more.

Accepting an invitation to a local dungeon, the sexual Dominant in Jared rears back to full potency when he sees Ninia, submissively awaiting his pleasure, his dominance. Now he knows what he wants. And he's about to prove to Ninia he's man enough to take it.

The path to Heaven starts in Hell – or so Jared McTavish found out!

Fighting for his country was never going to be easy, but it was Jared’s life plan, so when he gets shot to bits and finds himself crippled and relying on others to tend his every need, he’s not sure he wants to carry on with his miserable existence. Except through the darkness there is one small glimmer of light, Ninia, his strong, capable and completely alluring nurse. But what’s a Dom to do when he’s bedbound, has a life changing injury and isn’t sure if he’ll ever be able to go back into the BDSM scene and be the Master he was before?

Roped is the start of a series, and I am certainly keen to read more. The writing is elegant despite the at times difficult subject matter, the characters believable and the sex scenes frequent and explosive. I enjoyed seeing how Jared and Ninia came together and how the title, Roped, was part of that fun. The growing love between the couple was tender without being sappy and Ninia’s support of Jared the right balance of nurture without pandering or fussing. There was a slightly non-starter of a storyline with Jared’s sister and I wonder if there is more about her in the subsequent books, I hope so!

Roped is steamy and sultry, ticks all the boxes of an erotic romance and has some extra elements in it that makes it a real page-turning read. I would definitely recommend it to a friend who enjoys spicy reading material.

Party Games, Book 4

Lillian McDermott can’t complain about the years she’s spent at the top of a career she never wanted. But modelling gave her everything. Amazing experiences and enough money to leave it all behind to start her own perfume and fashion label.

The one thing it didn’t give her is Mackenzie Harris. Her brother’s best friend. The man who sees her only as a surrogate little sister. Now, at the launch party for her the next phase of her life, she’s done waiting. She’s going to rock Mac’s world until ignoring her is the last thing on his mind.

Mac isn’t blind to Lilli’s charms, and he never has been. But no best mate screws around with a little sister, no matter how tempting. No matter how much he wants to show her exactly how he’d like to respond to her teasing. But this time she’s gone too far, and he’s not backing down. She started it, and he’s going to finish it.

One spin of the bottle turns friends to lovers. But as the boundaries come down, everything changes. Including what they thought they believed about the other.

Spin the Bottle is book four of the Party Games series, and Rhian Cahill has brought the heat to a head early and often here.  These books are such fun, and are loosely connected, with many overlapping characters and stories. But having said that, each book can be read on its own merit, and nothing gets lost no matter the reading order.

Lillian McDermott has had a successful career, one she never would have chosen for herself, as one of the top models in the world. She has used her fortune behind the scenes, creating a successful children’s clothing line, while being seen as a sexy and mindless woman. As she throws one last mega party to celebrate her retirement from a spotlight she never wanted or enjoyed, she's determined to make a lasting impression on the one man who has been out of reach to her: her brother’s best friend, Mackenzie Harris. She's going to make him notice her before the night is over. What Lilli doesn’t know is that Mac has always noticed her, but hitting on your best mate’s little sister isn’t the best idea. When Lilli turns up the heat, however, all bets are off, and one spin of the bottle at the party could change everything. But when the night is over, will Lilli and Mac still be friends? Will all the misconceptions and ideas be erased, once and for all?

The characters here are strong and charismatic, successful in their professions, but more than a bit frustrated in their personal lives. This is a classic case of a crush becoming reality, on both sides of the equation, and a long time in the making.

Lillian McDermott is a successful and intelligent woman, in a profession she hates, but one that has been very good to her. As she celebrates her decision to leave her modeling career behind, she throws one last huge party to say goodbye to the whole circus of fame and fortune. She has everything she ever wanted, except for the one thing she doesn’t think she will ever have: the love of the one man she has loved for over ten years, her brother’s best friend Mackenzie Harris. She believes he dislikes her because of her lifestyle, although he doesn’t really know the real Lilli, the woman outside of the camera’s eye.

Mackenzie Harris has been very successful in his career as attorney to the hugely massive McDermott business empire. He's smart, strong and determined, and he always gets what he wants. What he wants now is Lilli, and not just for a fling. He's loved her for as long as he can remember, but he couldn’t seem to get past her public image and find the woman inside. Every time they're together, he ends up insulting her, even knowing he's wrong. I really enjoyed watching as Lilli was able to twist him in knots and show him how wrong about her he was.

Watching these two circle each other, with all their verbal sparring, was delightful. And I absolutely loved the reverse route that Mac took to build his relationship with Lilli after their first encounter. Make no mistake, this is a Rhian Cahill romance so it is screaming hot with passion, misunderstandings, secrets exposed and domineering males beating their chests for attention. There is also sweet passion, romance and brand new rules to all the old party games we all used to play. I highly recommend this one for all of those who like to play games and have fun in romance. But keep the fan on high, and have plenty of ice on hand.

Samantha so needs to prove her sexiness after finding her fiancée in the sack with another woman and Jake has wanted his boss's daughter for years. But will the fire burn out when she learns he’s here to arrest her brother?

To find out come along on the thrill ride as they battle her kinky ex-fiancée, espionage, and each other. Will Jake be able to rescue this runaway bride?

Samantha Logan walked in on her fiancé, Grayson St. James, as he was grunting over another woman. She was upset, not only because he was cheating on her days before their wedding, but also because he apparently did not want to have sex with her. She decided to call off the wedding and drive to her parent’s cabin so that she could make a list of qualities she would like her next partner to have. She also wanted to think of a way to get someone to instruct her in the erotic arts. Once at the cabin she was surprised when the door was jerked open by the one man she did not want to see, Jake Ramsey.

Jake Ramsey worked security for Logan Industries, Samantha’s father's company, and he has long had a thing for Samantha. When he finds out what Grayson did to Samantha and that she's looking for an erotic instructor, he decides he'll be the one to teach her. Jake is also trying to determine if Samantha’s brother Tad is stealing from the company, which does not go over well with Samantha.

Rescuing a Runaway Bride is the story of a headstrong girl who wanted to learn the art of seduction after finding her fiancé cheating. Jake Ramsey is the man she has always had a crush on and when he starts to teach her she takes to it like a duck to water. The only negative is the character of Samantha was annoying at times. She did things after being told not to and of course would get herself into trouble. Jake was an alpha male who was teaching Samantha to be a submissive to his Dom. The supporting characters were likeable and there were a couple of twists. Rescuing the Runaway Bride is a good story, and a pleasant way to spend a day.

Nicodemus Blackburn has seen the best and worst of mankind. Five hundred years of dealing with them teaches the vampire to be very wary of the creatures. Unfortunately, alarming events leave him no choice but to enter the world of the ton to hunt a rogue vampire—one who is making his own army of blood thirsty vampires. Searching for the villain is not the worst of his troubles. That can be laid at the feet of bluestocking Lady Cordelia Collingsworth.

A woman on a mission.

Cordelia has always been an outcast, even in her own family. She has forged her way in the world with her ability to write, and Nico Blackburn is the focus of her next article. Before she can obtain any information about the mysterious man, she is pulled headlong into a scandal that leaves her with no choice but to marry Nico—a man with dangerous secrets.

A passion that consumes them both.

Thrust into a world she knows nothing of, Cordelia finds herself falling in love with a man who claims to be a vampire. As their passion grows, so does the danger around them and Nico will have to call on all of his powers to protect the one thing he has realized he cannot live without: his opinionated, infuriating, and thoroughly delectable wife.

Nico Blackburn prides himself for his iron control but one night in a dark library with Lady Cordelia Collingsworth shows him just how little control he truly has.

Vampires immersed in the ton, combines two things I love, a unique take on vampires coupled with a rich historical romance. The premise paired with my love of all things Melissa Schroeder meant I had to pick this book up and the world is one I hope she returns to often. Taking an interesting twist from your standard vampire mythology there are vampires called the Born, that are born of special females called “carriers” and others that are turned called the Made, the turning of humans is extremely frowned upon since most don’t survive the change with their sanity intact.

The Blackburns are a high ranking vampire family but in the world of the ton that Lady Cordelia inhabits they are nothing but commoners.  That doesn’t stop Cordelia and her strong attraction for Nico. She’s shocked to learn that vampires move among the ton and that she’s the mate of such an irritating, arrogant male. Nico avoids London and the ton but with a rogue vampire creating his own army of Made vampires, he can’t stay away. The hunt for this rogue brings just the right level of intrigue and action to keep moving the story along quickly. The supporting cast of Nico’s family and friends sets the stage for many more stories, and I can only hope we get them quickly. I fell in love with Nico’s mother and her take charge personality and the way she immediately accepted Cordelia as family. I’ll admit before this book I had reached a level of apathy when it came to vampire novels. If it hadn’t been for this book being by Melissa Schroeder and the idea of vampires hiding in plain sight among the ton, I probably wouldn’t have given this book a chance. Desire by Blood renewed my faith that there are still entertaining and interesting ideas out there.

If you are looking for a hot, sexy, alpha male and a smart, sassy heroine who holds her own, look no further than Nico Blackburn and Cordelia Collingsworth. This is the perfect story for you, if you love delicious historicals and don’t mind a unique paranormal twist.

For Senior Chief Hank O’Mara no woman compares with the sea until he meets Lieutenant Bethany Morton. Only the sea can draw two such opposite and passionate people together. Only US Navy regulations keep them apart. Fraternization between Officer and enlisted is forbidden. Beth and Hank do their utmost to resist their mutual attraction. Can love prove stronger than either the sea or the USN? To find out, Hank will sacrifice his career, and Beth will risk her professional dreams.

Can two people who have pledged their lives to the service handle loves consequences?

Hank and Beth weren't looking for anything more than an affair to last them as they embark on different paths of their Naval careers. Instant attraction made it easy for them to continue their explosive erotic encounters, but with the Navy's strict fraternization codes, taking their relationship outside the bedroom could ruin both of their hard won Naval careers. Now with Hank's departure imminent, sacrifice for the sake of their country has taken on a whole new meaning. The time apart puts things into perspective, but uncertainty weighs heavily and feelings have only grown deeper. Is the possibility of love worth the downfall of Beth's budding Naval career and Hank's Naval reputation?

This was my first chance to read a story featuring both the male and female leads involved in some sort of military career. I was excited to read how the relationship dynamics would work between two people with not just desire in common but also duty. The story starts right off with Hank and Beth's first meeting and continues at a rapid fire pace with the discoveries they make along the way of their affair. Unfortunately, the pacing really affected the fluidity of the storyline and rushed through character development a bit too much for me to really connect with them or their situation. There was so much potential for the story to be really great if the characters could have been more fleshed out.

Nevertheless, I did find enjoyment in this quick read. The journey leaves the reader questioning throughout if they will find a way to make it work or not. Then the ending brought an unexpected element that left me wondering and thinking about the characters afterward. This story is definitely for readers who don't mind instant chemistry mixed with a forbidden love kind of tale.
