The Civil War has torn Belle Holloway’s world apart. Left to manage her Georgia plantation with little help, she is exasperated when the Union Army adds to her burden by leaving a wounded soldier behind. But upon closer examination, Belle is shocked to discover the soldier is actually a beguiling woman.

Clad in male attire, stubborn, brash Alice O’Malley awakens a passion in Belle she never knew existed. Alice dominates Belle’s lonely existence with taboo pleasures and erotic escape. Soon Belle realizes she is more than willing to submit her body and her heart to the woman whose strength and compassion she admires -- until those very attributes prove to be the catalyst that could destroy their newfound love.

With the world she’s known falling apart all around her, freedom to feel alive and cherished comes from a most unexpected source for Belle Holloway.

Step back in time with author Paisley Smith as she recreates the old South during it’s most turbulent and desperate years. The Civil War has been raging for over a year and Georgia has seen some of the worst fighting and decimation. What can be stolen is taken, what can’t, is burnt. Belle Holloway and the residents of The Rattle and Snap plantation have had their fair share of looting, killing and disease. Her father has been hung, her brother ran off to fight, her husband is missing and she’s been saddled with two seriously injured Yankee soldiers. And that’s just in the first chapter!

Belle is an incredible character. Her life prior to war consisted of being a wife and planning a future with her husband, Dalton. She certainly never figured on fighting for her life and that of her family, including a faithful house servant. You get the feeling that Belle has had to mature into an adult beyond her twenty-three years in short period of time. She’s had to shoulder responsibilities that are normally left to the men-folk or leave her home and what’s left of her family be destroyed by the Yankees. At the same time, Belle is a Southern lady born and bred. Ms. Smith pours Belle’s love for her family and ancestral home into her words and her actions. Just when Belle thought she had no one, other than Uncle Hewlett, to help protect her home and remaining possessions a wounded soldier is left in her care that would change her life forever.

If you like an alpha hero, you will love the feisty alpha heroine in Beguiled, Alice O’Mally. Alice is an Irish immigrant to the United States and an abolitionist. She joined the Yankee Zouaves army to “help right an injustice”. She is such a passionate individual and tries so hard to prove that she is as good, or better, than any man. Her attraction to Belle is almost instant but she fights to deny the attraction thinking there was no future for her with a married Southern woman.

Be prepared to sigh and to cry along with Belle and Alice as they struggle with their mutual attraction and the sexual chemistry that sizzles off the pages. Ms. Smith has penned a heartwarming novella. The breathtakingly vivid language will leave you feeling like you were a part of the lives of these women and praying that love will find a way for them to be together. You don’t want to miss this one!

Ryalda, the Element heroes of old, leak from the void and bring with them beauty, desire...and destruction.

Change is hard, but the unexpected metamorphosis into fire goes beyond any change Kenna Lang could ever have imagined. When she discovers her ancestors are actually ancient beings who exist in a void beyond our universe and the dragons of her childhood dreams are real, life as she knows it is over.

Erion, an Air Element, answers the call of Kenna’s emerging fire to discover a woman on the cusp of transformation. He’s drawn to her, the need to mate overwhelming. However, Erion killed once before by having sex in element form, and has sworn not to merge with another Element. But the discovery that a male Fire Element is intent upon enslaving Kenna’s soul forces Erion to get involved. He will save her. But he aches to do more than protect her. He wants to touch her -- to pleasure her, but he can't risk bonding his Element to hers.

Erion is unprepared for the emotions Kenna awakens in him -- or the lengths to which she will go to save him.

This story of the Elements is a wonderful tale of passion and romance. There is good and evil, a story of learning to accept what you are in Kenna’s case.

Kenna Lang is an artist, one with a unique talent. She works in glass, hot from the belly of the furnace, and shapes it into pieces of exquisite beauty and fragile design. Her first major show is coming, and her best piece is the image she has had in her mind and heart since childhood: a dragon she calls Drakaura. What she doesn’t know is that she is more than human, and dormant inside her is the element of fire, waiting to awaken in her.

Every night, she has the most erotic dreams, dreams that bring her to arousal and completion. What she doesn’t know is that she is being watched by two Elementals, one fire and one air. Erion is an air elemental, and he is trying to keep his distance, but it is he who visits every night in Kenna’s dreams. Erion knows Kenna is his destined one, but he once killed a woman, another air elemental, and he vows not to do it ever again. But he also has to protect Kenna from the evil of Haydn Stiles, the fire element that wants to steal her spark and drain her power. Can Erion protect Kenna without giving in to the attraction? When Kenna comes into her power, her element, can she learn to handle and control it without Erion’s help and his love?

I loved the story, and the many different levels of passion and at one point, betrayal, that the characters had to face, both alone and together.

Kenna doesn’t know she isn’t human. When she first meets Erion (or Eric Grey) he seems as human as she is. I loved watching her come to terms with the changes in her life, as well as her surprise when she finds that the dragons, her Drakaura, are real beings, not just dream characters.

Erion, or Eric, is determined to do the right thing with Kenna, but cannot fight the desire that flows between them every time they are together. I loved his strength of character, even though in the end, it seems he was wrong about so many things. He is strong and sexy, and yet gentle and sensitive to Kenna’s needs.

There are several very interesting secrets, revealed only near the end of this book, that were very surprising to me. I really didn’t see these coming. And the heat generated when Kenna and Erion are together is way beyond scorching; I’m surprised my fingers didn’t blister from holding my reader.

I hope the authors, KyAnn Waters and Tarah Scott, will revisit this world with more tales of the Drakaura and the elements, as I would love to read more of them.

Hot Dom, Cold Sub by Stormy Glenn
Rafe, a very serious dom, wants Danny the minute he spots the sexy little man dancing at Club Floggers. Rafe is used to getting what and who he wants.

When Danny refuses him, it sends Rafe into a whirlwind of arousal and confusion, especially since he knows the little submissive is interested.

Can a Christmas auction give Rafe what he needs, or will it leave him wanting more?

Dominate Me by H.C. Brown
Nash Mage, a six-five, leather-clad ball of muscle, is living on the edge. Damien, his control freak of a sub, left without a word. Teetering on the bounds of control, Nash finds his BDSM world beginning to disintegrate. He wants what every dom craves—a sweet, innocent sub he can train to fulfill his every desire.

When Paul Martin enters Floggers' Christmas Auction looking for his first BDSM experience, Nash thinks all his Christmases have come at once. Young, barely legal, with a slight build, Paul is just the way Nash likes his subs. Nash wants this delicious man with a passion—so do the other doms. If Nash secures the winning bid on Paul at Floggers' Christmas Auction, will he get to keep his prize?

Two great authors one great anthology. That is exactly what Flogger’s Holiday Sale provides. With the sexy men they are selling, everyone is sure to buy up the merchandise.

Hot Dom, Cold Sub by Stormy Glenn

Rafe and Denny’s story was a great start to this anthology. Rafe is a dom who is accustomed to getting any sub and the occasional dom that he wants. So he is immediately smitten with Denny -- a sub that turns everyone down. Well of course that will not do for Rafe and he makes it his mission to bring Denny home with him. Rafe doesn’t realize he has bitten off way more than he can chew. In this game of cat and mouse it can sometimes be confusing on exactly who the mouse is.

Denny not only mesmerized everyone at the club but also me as a reader. He is really is the perfect sub so you only want to see him happy. His determination is the quality that really shows from beginning to end. Once he commits he definitely commits for life no matter what. There are a few times in a story that I think I would have left Rafe, but not Denny. In the end his determination is really what allows him and Rafe to be the perfect sub and dom.

Dominate Me by H.C. Brown

Nash definitely is Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. He is on one emotional roller coaster and decides to take Paul along for the ride with him. Even with the emotional turmoil Nash is one hot dom. There is just something sexy about a man who can dominate the bedroom yet has no problem cooking and cleaning. Plus he has some interesting piercings that anyone would want to play with. I have to say that if I meet a dom like Nash I would have no problem licking his leathers.

The plot in Dominate Me played off of the first story perfectly. It was interesting to see the difference between the two dom’s and sub’s. This plot focused more around Nash’s mending heart and whether there was room in it for Paul. Luckily for Nash Paul came equipped with a first aid kit to help with any wound, even the emotional ones.

The only weakness that I found in this anthology was a few typos. For instance in Hot Dom, Cold Sub the blurb refers to the sub as Danny, but in the story his name is Denny. Also a few words were misspelled within the stories. These small weaknesses were not enough to disrupt the story, but did need to be mentioned.

The way these two stories were tied together is great. These authors clearly unified to create one two amazing stories. It is something that I have never seen before between two authors in an anthology and it is definitely a rare jewel. Both stories could have stood on their own but to read them back-to-back in this manner made them that much sweeter. Anyone with an appreciation for BDSM stories will cherish Flogger’s Holiday Sale.

Fairy Godmothers don’t always know what’s best. Or do they?

“If love is pain, I want to be hurt!”

It must have been her distress over being dumped by Sir Justin that made Princess Lilly less than precise expressing her wish to her Fairy Godmother. Otherwise, she would not have ended up the indignant prisoner of Sir Gawain, a vile knight who wouldn’t know how to properly treat a princess if the instructions whacked him upside his armored helm.

She should be angry, but she has no one to blame but herself, and no way out. The Kidnapping of Damsel Laws are very specific—once she is taken, she has no choice but to submit to his seduction. Every kiss, caress…and spanking.

Still, she’s determined not to make it easy for him. If he thinks he will bend her to his delicious…no, barbaric intentions, he has a serious flaw in his logic. Yet as he carefully executes his plan of exquisitely pain-laced pleasure, she finds her body responding quite against her will. And her mind racing with immoral thoughts that threaten her jealously guarded virtue.

Until there is a very small, tiny, remote possibility that Sir Gawain might win her hand…

Princess Lilly learned the hard way that, when wishing to your fairy godmother, you must be precise. Who knew that when she said, “If love is pain, I want to be hurt!” that her godmother would take her literally. After all, she had just been dumped by Sir Justin, for another Princess.

Enter Sir Gawain, kidnapping her in the middle of the night in accordance with the Kidnapping of Damsel Laws, and whisking her away to his castle. Also in accordance to the law, once abducted, Princess Lilly must submit to any and all demands made upon her by Sir Gawain, whether she enjoys them or not. Although she puts up a very good front of disinterest, inside, Lilly finds that she enjoys being dominated and punished, enough so that when Sir Justin kidnaps her from her abductors castle, she schemes for a way for Sir Gawain to end up as her rescuer.

Will Princess Lilly get the one she wants-Sir Gawain? Or will the Damsel In Distress Law be invoked, giving Lilly to the Dragon? If so, can Sir Gawain reach her in time to claim her and defeat the dragon?

Nick Howard has written a funny and, at times, ridiculous version of the classic Damsel in Distress fairy tale. But this is definitely not one for children. This is hot, and funny and sexy, and just a joy to read. The characters are all stereotypes of the classic tales: the self centered princess, the two knights, one the barbarian and one the civilized but spoiled rich boy.

Princess Lilly is the spoiled and self-centered royal. But as this story goes along, there is a hidden bit of her that comes to the surface, and she is as surprised by it as I was. I loved how she not only faced her situation with determined aloofness, but also was soon ‘suggesting’ to Sir Gawain other ‘punishments’ he might employ.

Sir Gawain is the rough but rich hero, handsome and determined to win Princess Lilly’s acceptance. He realizes that she wants what he offers, but has to follow the ‘rules’ concerning Kidnapping of Damsels and other bureaucratic nonsense. And when Sir Justin abducts the kidnapped Princess Lilly, Sir Gawain is up to the challenge.

I found this to be a humorous and delightful satire on fairy tales, with several hot and interesting twists and turns. There is a happy ever after here, but it is found only after much laughter and fun.

Fire elemental Fehniel of Hickom knows that her friends have found true love. The wolf in her knows that this frost giant is her mate, but the fire elemental in her wants to fight him all the way. Tynir knows that she is meant for him, but her calculating mind may be more than he can handle when it comes to keeping her safe. Unprepared when he sees the real her, he has to make a choice, run like hell, or fight to keep a woman who makes his cold blood run hot.

When a seer told Lord Thosnas that three of his grandsons would meet their perfect mates on a place above the planet Jotunheim, he did what he could to ensure their success with their destined mates. Now two of them have brought their females to the planet. Tynir is the third grandson, and a frost giant. The mate foretold by the seer for him is none other than Fehneil of Hickom, a fire elemental and daughter of the Wolf king. While the attraction is there for Fen, she hasn’t decided that he is the one for her, in spite of what a Hickom seer saw in her future: a mate who would ‘cool her fire’. Can Tynir convince her to visit the planet below, and think seriously of a future with him? And will the visit be an uneventful one for her? Can she escape the danger thrust upon her after her night with Tynir?

This is the third and final story in the Elymyntyls series from Viola Grace. Just when I believe that these can’t get any better, Ms Grace ramps up the romance and tension just that much more. I love the world that includes so many different beings, giants and elementals of many different talents.

Fen is a fun character. She plan to meet with her two best friends and partners, both of whom have gone to the planet below with their mates. She is determined to hold out until she has made sure she and Tynir can have a compatible life together, and also to find out why Thosnas set things into motion as he did. She may be the most cautious of the three friends, but she is also the most passionate.

Tynir is a frost giant, and capable of cooling the fiercest fires in his mate. He is also logical and levelheaded, and sees no reason to deceive Fen when she questions him on what is going on. He truly believes she is the one for him, and sets out to prove it in the best way possible. And when Fen is abducted, he is strong and yet terrified for her.

There is so much happening in this third book. There is the romance between Tynir and Fen, the visit from her family to Jotunheim, and then there is the danger that rears its ugly head, just when things should be moving along smoothly. The passion that explodes suddenly between Fen and Tynir is wonderful, and her ingenious escape from her captors is inspired. This is a marvelous conclusion to the Elymyntyls series, and I recommend all three for those who like their romance just a bit different.

Decker's been studying McTavish from behind a desk for years. Catching him is his chance to earn a much-desired promotion in the Union Alliance. Then the Queen, Arianna's stepmother, who is responsible for the prince's disappearance, contacts him with a deal: find her son before McTavish does and use him as bait, and she'll make sure he gets that promotion. Except...

Decker can't stand her actions against her son and turns on the Queen. He contacts McTavish and Arianna to make a deal. The biggest surprise when they meet isn't that he plans to go through with it. It's that his quarry and the princess are his mates.

On the run from a vicious queen, the three must learn what can bond a princess, a law man, and a order to save their lives and the throne.

The Rogue is a book hot enough to melt Hershey Kisses. When you have a rogue with a brogue on the wrong side of the law, a princess on a mission to find her missing brother; then toss in a law officer who is tired of sitting behind a desk and five years of determination to bring in a outlaw then you have a hot trio with a basket of surprises.

When love and a lifemate or mates is found, by the glow and heat from a stone, a hand pick stone called the Heart Stone, which is worn around the neck of those who are lucky enough to find their personal stone. Can three people put aside everything they want and believe in, and join when their Heart Stone glows are will they turn from what fate has picked for them as their mate and go their own way.

I enjoyed reading The Rogue but would recommend starting with book one, even though book 6 works okay as a stand-alone book and is extremely good. Things like the history of finding ones Heart Stone and true mate or mates are cover more in depth in the first few books of the series. The plot in The Rogue was good and fast paced with a lot of action and a lot of hot sex scenes. I dearly love the rogue brogue in the book, which made me think of a hot Irish or Scottish man. I found myself falling for the Rogue McTavish because in my book he was not the bad guy everyone made him out to be even though he was a law breaker. Then again, I had to laugh when the lawman Decker came face to face with McTavish and the princess Arianna and things started to heat up.

"The Rogue" was an all around good story and I would recommend it to my friends.

But how can he give up a friendship he needs more than anything -- a friendship and a love that could save him? He may not have time to make the choice before someone else destroys it all.

This is one of the best books I’ve read since I started reading m/m books. Sloan Parker does it again with her sophomore release. Her characters, Lincoln and Jay, are so well written that you fall in love with them and are cheering them on towards their happily ever after despite the odds against them.

The emotions Linc and Jay go through cover pretty much everything. Have a big box of tissues handy when you read this story. I love the idea that Linc and Jay get together in spite of adversity and the harm Linc caused Jay makes this story truly heartwarming. The feelings these two men go through to work their way to being together is heart wrenching.

The secondary characters in the story are also very well written, whether it is Linc’s sister, niece, nephews, and Paul (his ex) or even Jay’s crazy family as they deal with Jay’s wife’s death. Seeing how Linc and Jay deal with the threats to Linc that started when he was in jail and continue once he is out and all they do for each other is one of the things that make this story so great. The guessing on who the person is goes on throughout most of the story and I think most people will be surprised by who it actually is.

You do not want to miss this AWESOME story about forgiveness and conflict and working through it all to have a happily ever after. I highly recommend Breathe by Sloan Parker and cannot wait to read for the next book.

What do you get when you cross a werewolf and a vampire? It may sound like the beginning to some sort of joke, but what you will actually find is the basis for a really great story.

Keeping Blood has everything a reader could want in my opinion. The female lead is determined to be strong against impossible opposition, the male lead is an alpha who doesn't even want to let his instincts tell him what to do and the passion that ignites between the two of them is strong enough not to let any of the above get in its way. There's danger, drama, passion, humor and just enough of a hint at what's to come to have you straining your eyes for just one more glimpse of the future.

The only drawback I could find in this story was that the next in the series wasn't included in the download and I wanted to read it right away. I definitely recommend Keeping Blood to any reader who enjoys the paranormal.

She knew she was playing with fire...and was eager to burn.

The very thought of an innocent young woman donning a man’s uniform and joining the Prussian Army is scandalous. But on the run from an arranged marriage, Erika von Ecker’s destitute circumstances have left her little choice. She expects to earn enough money to buy her way out of the marriage. She does not expect to fall in love with Gregor Altmann von Breidenbach, the handsome heir to a vast duchy.

Prussian law forbids Gregor to marry beneath his title, so he seeks to make the brash beauty his pampered mistress. Erika’s refusal only stokes a fire within that spurs them both toward ever-greater heights of sensuous abandon. But as war looms, Gregor realizes he must do anything in his power to get Erika out of harm’s way--even if it means making her more than a mistress.

“I cannot consent to less than I deserve.” Erika von Ecker believed what she said to Gregor Altmann with her whole heart but would she be able to hold to her principals when it meant she would never be a part of Gregor’s life?

Prepare to be swept away to a tumultuous time in the history of Prussia, or modern day Germany. The year is 1740 the Prussian Army is headed to war and Erika von Ecker, daughter of Baron von Ecker, has made the only decision she could live with to salvage her future and that of her innocent little sister. She would join the Prussian Army under the disguise of Lieutenant Erik von Ecker, her deceased brother, and earn the money to repay her father’s debts. Erika is very aware of the punishment for portraying an officer but in the scheme of things it is the lesser of two evils when her only other alternative is to marry an odious man twice her age. Was it luck or fate that had her literally collide with Gregor Altmann, son of Duke von Briedenbach the same day she joined the regiment? I like to think it was a little of both.

Ms. Glass’s brilliant setting of 18th century Prussia is breathtaking. You can see the bright colors in the uniforms and practically smell the gun powder and horses when the cadets are training or marching. Ms. Glass has written some poignant historical romances that show her love for history and More Than A Mistress is stunning example. One of my favorite scenes takes place at a masquerade ball in Berlin. Erika and Gregor have both been fighting valiantly to not give into the chemistry that has been steadily building between them. When Erika steps into the ball room and Gregor truly sees her as a woman for the first time my heart literally skipped several beats! My other favorite scene is near the end when Erika has an audience with King Frederick. You don't want to miss the exchange. One word : Courageous!

Like Erika, I fell in love with Gregor Altmann. He is such an honorable character and once he discovers Erika’s identity he quite literally goes out of his way to save her. He’s willing to give her the funds she needs to cover her father’s debt, he takes a beating for her and wants more than anything to give her the life she deserves even when it’s not within his power to do so. He admires her courage and blunt honesty even as he tries to convince her that her actions are foolish and dangerous. However, I have to point out that Gregor also demonstrates that a man can only be so honorable before it becomes his downfall. There were a couple of different times, if I had been Erika, I think I would have cheerfully choked him with his tiresome honor!

One of the major themes of the book is in regard to the differences in the class system. Gregor was in the highest echelon while Erika, though a lady and a Baron’s daughter, was just above the working class. The differentiation in the titles and stations was a true cultural barrier during the 18th century and it gave the story a feel of realism and added powerful tension to the plot. Would they be able to overcome their heritage? Does Gregor find the courage to take love over title and inheritance? Can Erika give up her honor to become his mistress? You won’t want to miss the exciting conclusion!!

Some writers have such a talent for story telling that a book will literally play out as a movie in your mind while you read. If you enjoy a story that inspires your imagination you will truly enjoy More Than A Mistress.

Lucky offers to be her secret lover and help her realize all her fantasies. With Lucky, Marcy discovers the thrill of sexual positions and taboos she’s been missing out on—up to and including sex with two gorgeous men at once.

All bets are off when this Cougar is challenged to get her growl on.

Who would have ever guessed that it would be fashionable for an older woman to meet, seduce and marry a much younger man? Not too long ago it was considered nothing less than scandalous, even immoral. Well, men have been doing it forever so why not even off the statistics a little?

Meet Marcy Brown, 41 yeasr-old, whose husband left her for a much younger woman. A business card that advertises a blog for woman interested in younger men gives her the courage to go forth into that good night. But she just can’t stop thinking about getting lucky, literally -- she wants her massage therapist, Lucky, who rubs her in all the right places. When she reveals all her fantasies to him on the massage table, well, um, the tables are turned and Lucky is the man for the job. Lucky releases her inner self and off she goes where she has never dared to venture before.

Marcy is that everyday woman, not a superwoman or gorgeous model but the kind of woman you would sit down next to in the hair salon or stand behind in the grocery store. She has all the insecurities of a older woman and you feel it along with her. She is me and you and she is brave enough to finally go after what she most desires, Lucky and happiness.

The romance between them is hot and sweet and uncomplicated however, when Lucky turns out to have an identical twin, the story gets a little murky and the sex scenes become a little staggered, slow and uncomfortable but you get the idea. All throughout the story the characters are dealt unexpected curves and how they deal with them is simple and quick and little unrealistic but this is a fantasy book and as such, it delivers all the punch that is necessary to transport you to the life of the characters.

You feel for Marcy and root for Lucky and hope it all wraps up into a neat little bundle. Will all older women wind up with a studly, sexy, perfect young man. No, but it is nice to know some will.

Who knew a party planner would be such a party pooper? Luscious Serene Bleau is all business, especially when it comes to her client Kin Fina. At least she tries to be.

Kin, a shifter lion, is determined to seduce Serene into recognizing that there are some things you just can’t plan for. Like falling into the arms of—and over the desk and against the shelves with—your destined mate. Even if you scurry away afterward. Thank the goddess Christmas is just around the corner, because Kin is going to need a miracle to win Serene’s heart.

Serene is all business when it comes to her business. There's no pleasure to be had during business hours and especially not with a client. She may seem a little uptight, but past experiences have shaped her the woman she is today. A woman that, regardless of what she may think she wants, her body has other ideas.

Kin is not going to let some rule that Serene has to stop him from claiming her. After all she is his mate and plans on making it official just as soon as he can. He just needs to tell her his plans first and hope she understands all that he is.

This is a light and fun holiday read! If you've read Jocelyn Modo before then you might be familiar with First Heat, which is what this is loosely based from. It's sort of set in that same world with her concept of lion shifters, so it's easier to understand some of the terminology and ritual if you've read First Heat first, but it's not necessary. Any shifter loving reader will enjoy this little romp! We already know what Kin's secret is, but it was a nice unexpected surprise to find out that Serene has a secret too and it's not what you might think. All in all it is a little fast paced, but it has the perfect ending.
