Alix Townsend, uptight, high-powered litigation attorney, has a wild side she rarely unleashes. Deep inside, beneath her tailored suits and frosty image, beats the heart of a woman who dreams of the kinkiest kinds of sex. Preferably with her next door neighbor, Mack Taylor.

When hot, hunky Mack saw his mouthwatering neighbor looking over an array of sex toys on her patio, he was instantly hard and ready for the kind of erotic adventures with her he’d been dreaming about. A weekend of kinky sex took them both to new heights of sensual satisfaction, but could they take it beyond that or had the hours been so hot they burned themselves out?

Good looking, hot-bodied Mack catches Alix, his next door neighbor with a bag of sex toys in her hand after her all-girls toy party. He asks her for a date, and then asks her to bring her little pink bag of toys with her. And she says yes.

The heat between Alix and Mack has been rising for years, but there has never been the right opportunity for the two to connect. Mack's an investigator for the DA and away from home a lot. Alix has been going it dateless and alone for a long time, trying to make her career as a lawyer fulfilling 'enough'.

The date quickly turns into a weekend in sex toy heaven. The couple makes a special connection Alix can't put out of her mind or her heart. But will their weekend together be the end of what they’ve shared? When Mack doesn't call or show up after almost a week, she decides to put her hopes aside. What she isn't counting on are the many surprises soon in store for her. That includes the touching creativity of this fascinating man.

Ms. Holt does it again with her sweet-hot romance guaranteed to please. I loved the chemistry between Alix and Mack and was delighted by the richly worded details of their erotic and emotional adventure. Here is an example of the magnetic quality of writing in this entertaining story: “His voice was low and deep, like hot sunshine and thunder on a summer day, spreading its sound everywhere through her body.”

I recommend, Bound and Determined if you like your romance super-hot with a dose of fun and play!

Fresh from his latest scandal, vampire playboy Dante Dellacourt has been given an ultimatum—take a consort and settle down or be disowned.

Exiled by her pack, the werewolf Kaja is stolen from her frozen plane and awakens in a foreign world. Frightened and alone, she savagely fights for her freedom.

When Dante and his Fae cousins are called to defend the gnomes of the marketplace from their feral prize, he discovers that Kaja glows like no other consort he has ever seen. Exotic and wild, her body calls to him in ways he had not dreamed possible.

In order to claim his werewolf, he must first tame this ferocious beauty. But to earn her submission, will Dante be forced to unleash his inner beast?

On the vampire plane as well as the Seelie realm a single name strikes fear and awe into the inhabitants…Dante Dellacourt.

Okay, so maybe Dante doesn’t inspire fear as much as sexual lust. However, few people make the mistake of disrespecting this vampire royal.

We initially met Dante in author Sophie Oak’s first foray into the paranormal genre with Bound. Dante was essential in the rescue of his cousin’s, the Seelie King's, bond mate, Meg. He impressed me then with his strength of loyalty and character. It’s that character that is a central theme in Beast.

Dante has always been the underestimated playboy. So much so, he too believes his “job” in the family empire is to party and look pretty…until he met Kaja. A werewolf cast out from her home, Kaja was merely trying to survive when she was captured and sold to the gnomes for their tournament auction. Kaja has been more animal (beast if you will) than human for so long she has trouble acclimating into a world where she’s expected to wear clothes and bathe regularly.

Dante is in the position of needing a consort, also known as a wife or bond mate. Kaja glows as no other consort Dante has ever met, even Meg. These two mismatched and misunderstood souls will fight each other and anyone who threatens their mate for the chance to be together.

I became so immersed in Ms. Oak’s world building with Bound I didn’t see how she could top herself. Honestly, I was willing to settle for simply enjoying Beast as a follow-up to Meg, Cian and Beck’s story. It was that and so much more.

Dante has perfected the cocky, self-assured, bad-boy fun persona. It’s who he is but at the same time it isn’t. It takes provoking his inner beast to prove dominance over his mate and protect the woman he grows to love and admire. Do you see the significance of the title? Brilliant!

I had doubts about Kaja as Dante’s leading lady. Ms. Oak paints her as an abused wild animal to Dante’s refined royal status. Kaja had a lot to learn to survive in Dante’s world. Like any true Alpha female, Kaja doesn’t simply meet the challenge, she runs to face it. I fell in love with her honor and courage right along with Dante.

I would be remiss in not mentioning that fans of Sophie Oaks other series will be thrilled to see some familiar faces…sorta. I won’t give away that particular treat you’ll have to read the book to see how she performs her magic. Beast is an excellent story that picks up where Bound left off. You’ll receive a richer enjoyment Dante and Kaja’s story if you read Bound first.

Ms. Oak’s characters rarely, if ever, fall in love at first sight. Lust at first sight is a different matter. While they almost always feel chemistry and/or sexual attraction, she allows the true passion and love to build slowly throughout the story. Beast is bathed in tension and sizzling descriptive sex. If you don’t want to be in the room with these people, don’t read this book. However, if you crave vivid writing, carefully crafted dialogue, and plots so thick you’ll need a knife; Sophie Oak is the story teller for you. I hope you’ll join me on this sensational journey sure to have you searching for your own Faery story.

When the much younger Ethan moves in to Ida's neighbourhood, an innocent flirtation quickly becomes passionate. But who is educating who in this cougar encounter?

Ida Deloraine intends to build herself a new life and a new catering career after a painful divorce. When the much younger Ethan Holt moves in across the street, an innocent flirtation quickly becomes serious when the two realize their age difference is no barrier to all-consuming passion. But Ethan is the exact opposite of what Ida is looking for in a sexual partner. In her eyes he is young and vibrant, with his life and his dreams still ahead of him, whereas hers are all in the past. Can Ethan, who is fighting his own demons in the form of a car accident, failed marriage, and forced career change, convince Ida to overcome the past and live for the moment? And just who is educating who in this cougar encounter?

Ida Deloraine just can't stop watching and fantasizing about her much younger new neighbor. But she knows nothing can ever come of her desire ... or can it?

Ethan Holt felt Ida's gaze on him from the moment he started moving boxes from the van. He didn't know who it was, but the heat was evident from the start. Finally, he takes matters in his own hands and makes a neighborly visit.

Though neither of them intended for the instant surge of desperate heat between then, it was there. Ida has scars, both physical and emotional, from her failed marriage. Ethan has baggage of his own. But they can't deny the need they have for each other.

Educating Ethan starts out with a flush of need from our older heroine who all but drools at Ethan's sexy, half-dressed body. She's a bit shamed by her feelings but it's really the first time she's been turned on like this since her divorce. She has no intention of acting on her feelings, but there's no harm in looking.

Ethan pushes Ida right out of her comfort zone from the start. He's forward and deliberate. He's also very sweet. And very, very sexy. I like a man who knows what he wants and goes after it. He's not aggressive, but he's persistent and wears Ida down quickly.

Still, even after they heat up the sheets, she doesn't think she can give him what she thinks he needs. She pulls away ... he moves closer. Ida never stands a chance!

Though the sex in this short story is vanilla, it's steamy and erotic. I just fell madly in love with Ethan and could eat him up with a spoon. He's both amazing and realistic, and just exactly what Ida needs. The author doesn't waste words, just tells it like it is. We know exactly what each character is thinking and feeling and while, I'm not sure Ida and Ethan will make it forever and always, I do think they'll have a strong relationship full of fun, conversation and adventurous sex for many years to come.

Educating Ethan was a good story and I'm very glad I chose to read it.

Moments before her death, medieval history student Lilly Marten mysteriously arrives in the year 1503, where soldier Gabriel Sutherland has been expecting her arrival.

Standing on the battlements of a 16th century Keep was the last place Gabriel Sutherland should be. Then again, being ‘shifted’ to 1503 seconds before a rocket blew his ass to bits wasn’t something he had envisioned either. Still, he was surviving the only way he knew how, as a soldier. Then Lilly arrived. Sweet, innocent Lilly. For a genetically superior soldier whose life had entailed of nothing but serving King and country, the arrival of Lilly proves too much for Gabe to ignore. For the first time in his life, Gabe can have a woman of his own and Lilly is the one.

Lilly Marten lives alone, her quiet life the result of a highly sensitive photographic memory. That changed when she arrived in the year 1503 seconds before Toronto’s popular C.N Tower came crashing down on top of her. Now she was never alone. Gabe was always near. With his unbelievably perfect features and intense green eyes, he is not a man easily ignored. Yet, uncertainty about her new life leaves Lilly with no choice but to put faith in a man she fears and whose strong physical presence causes her to desire more than just his trust.

This time travel novel has it all!! No Matter When has the past, present and future; love, hate and friendship; and a well thought out plot that is developed beautifully. What more could you ask for?

In the future, there's a technology that can be used for good or evil. If used properly, it can save lives. If it falls into the wrong hands, it can be used to change the future and for other wicked pursuits. Now five people, from different walks of life and times, are in a race to save the past and the future.

Lilly’s whole world changed the moment her mother died. In an instant, her foundation was demolished and she was left alone. In the accident that took her mother from her, Lilly gained something she was ill prepared for, a photographic memory. At a young age, she must learn to cope with her new ability. She tells the one person she thinks may understand and help her through this problem, but he's unable to comprehend the situation and abandons her. This event forms her present existence. She works hard to not reveal her ability and in turn, she's introverted and unable to trust anyone ever again.

Gabriel's an advanced human. He's the product of science in a time where genetic impurities and disease have been systematically removed from human genes. Gabriel is a soldier to which all future soldiers will be compared. Unfortunately, he's killed before his time. Now he lives in Scotland in the year 1503, along with three other men. Two of the men are from the past and a fellow soldier from his time. None of them know why they were sent to this particular place in time, but from the moment Lilly arrives, everything begins to change.

Finally, all the pieces are in order. The professor responsible for their time travel has revealed the reason for their continued existence. What may have started out as an experiment on his part now has a purpose. The five of them must work together to thwart a conspiracy. Along the way, they also find friendship and love.

This story may be about the blossoming romance between Gabriel and Lilly, but I truly believe the underlining message is of loyalty and friendship. These five people were sent to the past for reasons unknown to them. They bonded over the hardships and the commonality of their situations. No Matter When is so much more than a romance.

Lilly and Gabriel are two people who are astonishingly different, but at the same time amazingly similar. I enjoyed reading their adventure and how they grew as people. It was not an easy road for them, but I’m glad I was able to read about how they eventually came together.

No Matter When appears to be book one in the series, Out of Times. Beyond that, I have absolutely no idea what will happen next in this series or when. I found very little information on Ms. Adams and her books. I have noted this talented author and I plan to keep a look out for her future works and the next book in this exciting new series. She's written an amazing tale, captivating characters and a promising universe.

There's no time like the present to experience No Matter When. This is a riveting novel that will take you back in time, make you contemplate the present and question the future. It’s not to be missed!

Sometimes it takes just one kiss…

Doomsyear, Book 1

Kylie Mitchell lives in a world of monsters. Thanks to a military experiment gone viral, over half the population is gone and most of what remains has mutated into storybook werewolves and vampires. In this new Earth, only the tough survive, and Kylie has more than enough reason to want to be left alone.

When the Council of the Wise decrees that she must mate with a potent vampire and a powerful werewolf, Kylie resents their intrusion into her self-imposed exile. As one of the last humans on Earth, she always assumed she’d be safe from the super-psychics’ machinations, and she’s not ready to trust her heart to anyone.

Michael and Christian share no great love for each other, but they have one thing in common—their long-time desire for Kylie. Determined to ensure she doesn’t spend the rest of her lonely life wallowing in needless guilt, they choose to put aside their differences and work together, never allowing her time to think as they seduce her body and mind, hoping their love will tempt her heart to open to them.

Yet just as she begins to bloom under their fiercely protective attention, a twisted and monstrous figure from the past rises up, threatening to destroy everything…

Sometimes you just need to kick some monster butt.

I've heard great things about Ms. Bast's books. Lots of good things. To be honest, I've got a couple of them on my shelves but I hadn't had time to read them. Until this book. Any reader wanting a taste of her work need look no further than The Twisted Kiss. The writing flows well, and although I wanted to learn more about the world these characters live in, I could still see it.

The world is in turmoil. Viruses and death are all around. Few humans are left. Talk about a sticky situation to be in. Kylie is one of those few humans left and she feels guilty everyday because of it. I identified with her "why them and not me" mentality. We've all been there - wishing we'd been the ones to suffer and not someone else. So yeah, she's got guilt.

Enter Michael and Christian. They don't like each other. Well, why not? One's a vamp and the other's a wolf. Duh. They probably shouldn't like each other, but there is one person they do like--Kylie. Talk about heat! Phew! I needed a couple cool drinks to get through this book. The boys steam up the pages trying to convince Kylie she's worthy of being alive and they are worthy of her.

Although I wanted to hang around with these characters a bit longer, I have to say the length of the book is just right. There's the right amount of heat and story and it is fast paced. No goofing around here. There are some twists and turns I didn't see coming. And yeah, I loved not being able to tell what would happen next. It kept the story line fresh for me.

If you want a book that's got a fierce heroine, two steamy heroes and some tricks you won't see coming, then you need to get The Twisted Kiss.

Kyle and Ava are virtual strangers. Due to an unexpected incident they must work together and find a solution to their predicament. One problem leads to another, and now their attraction to each other is unstoppable.

This novel moved along quite nicely. I was never bored and found myself unable to put it down. The continuity was exceptional and that is a quite a feat considering all the factors at play. I had no idea what to expect next and I loved every minute of it. The sex scenes were not overly erotic, were well paced, and imaginative, but still tasteful and fun.

Therian Promise story is a continuation of the first book Therian Prey. I would highly recommend they be read in order. As a whole this series has plots with intriguing twists and turns, steamy sexual encounters, and the characters are so charming, you want to get to know them personally.

I’m just going to put it out there, I love Therians! The paranormal genre is a favorite of mine and when I find a new fascinating take on it, I just devour it. Ms. Friberg can’t write fast enough for me. The Therians have an interesting history, a highly developed society and their passion burns up the pages. The world building for this series has been thrilling and simply ingenious.

I have no idea where Ms. Friberg is going to take me next in this journey. I am more than happy to pay the price and reserve my seat. Come along on the ride, you don’t want to miss it!

Strictly business? Try telling that to her heart…

Worth It, Book 1

Alexander Worth, President and CEO of Worth Luxury Goods, is a man never to be crossed. His unwavering sense of responsibility to the family business requires him to always be in complete and utter control. Until it comes to Tessa Crawford.

She’s quietly professional, shy, voluptuous…and she works for him. Which means she is the one woman he must never touch, no matter how hard his gut twists with need for her.

After rising above her disadvantaged childhood, Tessa knows the last thing she should do is risk throwing it all away by falling into bed with her sexy boss. But on an extended European business trip, all self-imposed barriers burn away in the heat of their sizzling chemistry.

Once back home, though, whispers of corporate espionage turn into full-blown scandal—and Tessa finds out the hard way where Alex’s loyalties lie. Determined to soldier on, she picks herself up and carries on with a secret, yet welcomed burden. Never guessing that Alex will make a reappearance in her life, ready to show her once and for all that family does, indeed, come first.

Is getting involved with the boss worth the scandal?

To Alexander Worth, family and his family-built company mean everything. Anything else is just a necessary evil to get him through the days during business hours or the long lonely nights. Especially the meaningless women flitting in and out of his life mostly for appearances sake. The only bright spot to his days is his efficient and sweetly innocent secretary. Tessa's demure appearance serves an aphrodisiac and her curvaceous body instantly sex-appealing. To a man used to being in control, Alex finds himself struggling to understand the power she holds over him as more and more of his thoughts and fantasies are filled with her. He knew it would never work to approach her on anything, but a professional level and so he contented himself with watching her work. That is until an opportunity presents itself and the chance to get closer to her was too hard to resist.

Despite his aloofness and intimidating, powerful presence, Tessa Crawford couldn't stop herself from falling for Alexander Worth. She knew it would never work and not just because he was her boss, but she's also not his type. Tessa kept herself content with simply being around him as his personal secretary. No demand or task too hard for her to take on and within six months she proved herself as a hard-working, competent woman. But that's not all she proved and as Alex discovers, Tessa's innate submissive behavior doesn't only extend to business.

Alex and Tessa are the "opposites attract" type couple. They are irresistibly attracted to the each others prominent character traits. The hard bodied Alex being the demanding alpha expecting nothing less than to be obeyed grows a gentle spine as the story progresses showing a vulnerable side to himself. And then there's the soft-hearted and nurturing Tessa who shows her defiance and “claws” only when necessary and most often with Alex. This all leads to frustrations born from the ever present sexual tension and some extremely spicy sex scenes.

Worth the Scandal is a compelling, dramatic story of love, betrayal, secrets, lies, and a seemingly doomed affair where societal status could be their downfall. The romantic development is tension filled and keeps pace with the story beautifully. The various emotions are fully expressed and believable for this poignant tale. Although a few of the scenes ended somewhat abruptly, the story demands the reader's attention from beginning to end. Ms. Erickson continues the storyline by keeping it in the Worth family and focusing next on one of Alex's brothers. I am extremely curious to not only get to know him better, but also the expected update of the eldest Worth brother where during the course of this story some major life-altering developments had taken place. This story is definitely worth the read!

This super charged, fast paced story is about as scorching hot as it gets. I was really impressed with this couple’s enthusiasm. Happily ever after is part of the equation...but something’s not adding up.

Investment analyst Lexi Watts has a social life, but thanks to her demanding job, no love life. After a twelve-hour day going toe-to-toe with her demanding boss, Dan Yeager, she barely has the energy to make her usual stop by her favorite pub for a pint and dinner. Except this night is different. Tonight, the firm’s golden boy, Jack Brogan—a.k.a. the man of her dreams—is in the pub. Drunk, lonely and available.

After she takes him home and tucks him into bed, she finds herself joining him there more and more often. A dream come true, yet she can’t quite put her finger on what’s missing.

The pieces fall into place one night when she’s a victim of a mugging. And it’s not Jack who comes to her rescue, but Dan. Giving Lexi a surprising glimpse of the real man behind his volatile, irascible office persona.

And suddenly Lexi’s once nonexistent love life has become complicated beyond belief…

Sex in the city can be a lot of fun, but sex in the city with a work colleague... maybe not so much. Especially when he starts treating you like a booty call.

Lexi Watts initially thought all she'd get from from Jack Brogan was one unforgettable night with the man she's been lusting after for years. Well, she got more than that when he decides they should continue having incredible nights together whenever he calls. Lexi feels torn and begins questioning whether it's lusty excitement with a possibility of more or just a booty call. Realization comes to Lexi in the form of a mugging and who her thoughts immediately turn to as a possible rescuer.

The story is short, but gets straight to the point in Lexi's turmoil over a lust versus love type relationship. She is confused over her lustful feelings for the charmingly suave Jack and pursues a relationship with him. Problem is he’s only interested in a physical attachment. Knowing she deserves better, Lexi suddenly has reason to see the man behind the gruff, strict boss. She's witnessed a deeper side to him, but can the dream and reality reconcile into one man?

An Unexpected Love is quick-paced, but unexpectedly choppy between scenes. There is a nice heat to the not-erotically-graphic sex scenes, but the romantic development wasn't fully fleshed out. However, I enjoyed reading it and belive the story will be appealing to readers looking for a light contemporary story about a single girl in the big city looking for love.
